Hey everyone,
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I have a question ab my dredded scale! When I started MFP I weight 155 and when I weight myself in friday I weighed 143! Yeah me! So today is my 24th birthday and I celebrated yesterday with hibachi (filet mignon) and some ice cream cake and I weighed myself this morning at 149! I even worked out extra hard yesterday! Is it possible to gain 6 pounds from one dinner and desert? Or could my scale be broken? I feel like it has been a little off!
Thanks!!!

That's definitely a scale issue! The problem is - you need to find out if it's correct today, yesterday, or not at all.
If it's battery-operated, try changing the battery.0 -
No, that is not possible. Don't stress! It could be because of sodium or water retention! Check the battery. But, it is probably just something that you ate might have had extra salt in it and now you're retaining it. Drink some extra water today to help flush it out and don't get discouraged!!0

not possible to gain it in fat but it is possible to gain it in water weight if you indulced in high-sodium foods. If that's case case it should be gone by weigh-in time next week.0

Megan....don't stress your choices were not bad. Remember Beef makes you weigh heavy. It takes our bodies about two days to digest beef....you could not have gained that much....so put the scales away til your next weigh-in and you'll be fine. All too often we get caught up in the scales.
Invest in a tape measure and take your measurements, then take them again in another month.
I increased my exercise last week anticipating a big loss today. I maintained, but got out the tape measure and I am down 12 5/8 inches. When the inches Fall so too will the Pounds. Instead of being discouraged by the Scales I find I am more Encouraged by the Tape Measure
Happy Birthday!!!!:flowerforyou:
have an awesome day!!!!

agree with everyone....
sodium, and if you worked out extra hard your muscle will hold water. i don't do my heavy workout the day before weigh in. it shows on the scale every time.
happy birthday :flowerforyou:0 -
