Procrastin-eating

I am noticing now that if I am not hungry but I am trying to avoid doing something and/or I feel very overwhelmed, I want to eat. Keeping busy is great but I think I am TOO busy and the stress is making me want to eat and maybe eating has become the only way I can relax! I used to be a smoker and quit when I became pregnant. Being pregnant, I easily replaced smoking with eating! I've been eating ever since in all the spaces where smoking used to be. Eight years now!

Now I have a ton of things to do and I am anxious so I want to eat. I also do not want to do it so I am looking in the fridge and cupboards for a way out lol.

At least I have caught myself in this cycle so I can break it!

Does anyone else procrastinate with eating? And without food or other non-healthy vices, what is your reward or way to relax after a long day?

    Yes i do that a lot ....

But i'd say that now, with logging everything i eat on MFP it kinda helps to break this habbit, be cause it does get a direct and short term consequence on my goal...
Sometime i go walk instead or grab a book and read or come and browse on MFP forum.... Like now!
I'm still procrastinating but less with food than before ....

    gotta clean that wardrobe....

Oh my, I could've written this myself!!! I just try to stay busy and not think about it, or drink hot tea in the evening. Seems like that's when it piles up on me the worst. As far as a reward for a long day.... I have 3 kids so I just collapse into bed,LOL

I do the same thing! Yesterday was really bad I was snacking all day. I try to go on MFP and distract myself, at least I am not eating but I still procrastinate from what I really have to do. I don't know how to stop doing that.
  • I had a lot of that in the beginning, and still see myself fretting over food because I over think the nutritional value vs. just eating because I'm starving. It really helped me to have those healthy fruit, cracker, slice o' cheese stuff around so when I was bad I wasn't really all that bad. 22 pounds later I still have little episodes but it does get a lot easier. Good luck.

All the time... but have stopped because when I finish work...I go to the gym for about 1 and a half to 2 hours... when I get back I'm a bit tired, come on here, log my stuff, put the kettle on, tidy up the mess i left my room in, get a shower then cook something for dinner that takes a longish time to cook! If peckish I just drink green tea! :) x
