C25K Beginners Running Group - Week 4 (Closed Grp)

a. W4D2 done - 6/10/11
b. The run was ok again, I was bored near the 3rd run and wanted to stop - not out of being tired though, but just being bored.
WTG my dear, glad you got through it. What about your C? What are your plans for the next run, to mix things up?
When I get stuck in boredom, I use my imagination and take myself to an awesome place, a place that I've either been or fantasize about visiting. It's kinda silly, but it helps get me through these workouts!0 -
a. W4D2 - Done. Thursday.
b. Difficult, but easier than Tuesday. Dropped my running speed to 4.8mph.
c. Going to stick with my pre-lunch workout. Seems to work best.
This Steve Jobs passing away thing is hitting me more than I expected (even for the nerd that I am). Sure, he's 15 years older, but that's like a blink of the eye. I'm going to use it to add motivation to complete this running program despite the fear (of injury) and the doubt (that my body can keep getting stronger). Can't wait any longer to get myself healthy.0 -
a. W4D2 completed. Walk 3.0-3.5; Jog 4.5
b. I got a cramp in my foot 2 minutes into the warm up, but I worked it out and completed without any more problems. It is exciting to see more calories burned and more distance covered in the same amount of time as previous weeks!
c. My biggest obstcale is the conversations that I have with myself while I am jogging. I am going to work hard at making these conversations more positive than negative!0 -

Dave, Glad you got through your workout okay. I heard Steve Job's speech yesterday, and it was so awesome! What a great idea for motivation, and you're on your way, for sure!!0 -

WTG Christine!! Funny about conversations. I have those too...well...more like fantasies of doing something extreme, like climing Everest, or sky diving!!0 -
a. W4D2-Done 10/6 walked 3 and run 4.5 with .5 incline
b. My toes hurt little bit not sure why. It seemed the first round finished so quick. I wanted to continue running beyond the 5min I got the momentum but had to stop there is a reason why they did the routine!
c. Thinking of doing my run tomorrow and see how it feels back to back running.
Christine, I have the same conversation all time and I quickly blog it when it turns to be negativa and turn into positive gear like how I will be a runner, how my legs will be stronger. I also try to block the pain, it is amazing how we can turn around our thought of thinking and feeling. I tell myself you're almost done, look back where you were three weeks ago!!!!0 -

Glad you got it done Yasmin!! We've all got one more run to do before Sunday (mine will be today), plus a bonus? I'm not even through this week and already worrying about the 20 min, 2 mile run next week! I hate how I set myself up to fail before I give it a shot.0 -
End of the day progress report, 10/6/11:
Just one more run this week!!

a. W4D3 completed!
b. The run was ok again, not so tired and not as bored - I think what helped was a change in music and just a lot of thinking to keep my mind busy! However, on the last few seconds of the last run, I got a stitch. This is the first time it's happened! It was painful and I'm so glad I was stopping anyway because the time was up, but it was no fun.
c. Goals = not to get a stitch!
I also had a look at week 5. Week 5 is scary. Very scary. :sad:0 -
a) W4D3 Completed, hallelujah!!
b) It wasn't as hard as previous days, but I got a little tired during the last 2.5 min.
c) screw the bonus run this week!

a) W4D3 finished. In other words WEEK 4 is over!! Walk 3.0; Jog 4.5
b) I think that it was just as difficult as the first day; however, my pulse has been lower. That tells me that I am getting in better shape, and, even though my head is telling me one thing, my body is saying something else.
c) Bitter sweet to see week 4 over. I'm glad it is finished, but week 5 looks pretty intimidating. I'm going to try that fantasizing thing that Felicia mentioned next time instead of telling myself how silly I am that I actually think that I can accomplish this. I do think that I will do a bonus run tomorrow to help prepare for next week. I have an extra bonus in this, though, my overweight 10 year old son went to the Y with me this morning, and after my "run" we got on elliptical machines next to each other and had a race to see who could burn 200 calories first. It was a good work out for both of us. I think that tomorrow I'm going to try that strategy with him when I have my bonus run.0 -
a. W4D3-completed!!!!Yay! Done.. 3 walk, 4.5 run with .5 icline.
b. Last round was hard and I kept telling myself don't look at the time it will finish fast.
c. Eat as clean as I can and take my fish oil for week 5.
Hubby came back from his trip so could'nt do the run last night as planned. Was thinkiing doing this run since morning, went to the gym did upper body workout, picked up the kids from Jujutsu, dropped at my friends and decided to sit for tea. I got home at 8 and thought there is no way I'm going to let Felica update the weekly report without my run! Thank you all. You can't imagine how deeply I appreciate your company, every run I find myself getting closer to you all. This is what it means to be a community, to encourage and motivate eacchother towards a healthier life style.:flowerforyou:0 -

WTG Christine!! I think it's great that you're working out with you boy! My oldest daughter is overweight and she's stubborn. I figure if she sees my progress that she'll get on board. I won't push her, I'll just be an example. Good luck with your bonus run!! I am going to the gym, but just plan on doing weights and the steam room. I may get on the treadmill, but I don't feel compelled. Next week looks tough, and I honestly don't think I can do 20 mins, but we'll see...0 -
