Hi! I am new here. Been struggling to lose those last 10-15 lbs for so long. I am 37 yrs old, 5'2" and currently weight about 139 lbs. I work out 6 days per week. I do cardio minimum 2 times per week, bikram yoga for 90 min 4x per week and weight train 3 times per week.
A question: I may be eating too little for the past while. Should I be eating the cals recommended PLUS the exercise cals?? How has everyone done with the help of MFP?
What are some tips you can give me? Do you have any room for some indulgences like birthday/anniversary? How do you handle it?
Thanks!

i only use mfp to track calories. i don't really pay attention to the calorie goal they set for me - i kind of try to stay within what they say, but i don't do a lot with it. at the very least, if you're tracking what you're eating and you can visually see it, it helps you to know what works for you and it makes you think about the foods you ate that day. and i would say you shouldn't worry so much about the number on the scale, it doesn't matter as much as the way your clothes fit, that's going to be the indicator that you're losing bodyfat, which is waay more satisfying than seeing the scale go down two or three pounds0

Welcome to MFP! I only eat half of the extra calories I earn from working out and stick to my calorie goals on the days that I'm unable to workout. As far as special occassions... I enjoy them and get back to the plan the next day.Good luck, you can send a friend request if you want, I can always use help!0

There is room for error as long as you maintain a calorie deficit. Sending you a friend request, if you want support, help on this.0

I am in your same boat with wanting to get the last 10 lbs. off. I've been bouncing around 137 lbs. for the past 8 months and I workout 5-6 days a week--Jillian Michaels circuit training and yoga meltdown, and elliptical and treadmill. I just started the couch to 5k program this week in hopes running will help.
I would love you to add me so we can help each other out. I try to stay to 1200 calories (been difficult with all my teens and their friends around and I am getting better about not eating their food). I just started this week of low sodium, more water, trying to focus on more vegetables and less things with flour. I want to go "white free" too--white sugar, white rice, white flour, chocolate, etc.
I think our bodies really want to hold onto these pounds!0 -
thanks for all the responses. So I will track for a bit and see how it goes. As for yoga...I do Bikram Yoga at a yoga studio. It is HOT, 90 min and INTENSE.0
