Flying by the seat of our skinny little pants: Starting poin

Good morning all you wonderful workout buddies! Here we are in New York, our starting point. Are you ready to do some flying? I AM!!! Let’s see how far we can get this first day, and then I’ll make some goals as to where we want to get to from there….we are heading to London, England first!
Remember each calorie you burn equals 1/4 of a mile. The more we burn, the farther we get. It is ok to take rest days, it is ok to have some days where you don’t burn as much as others. I will be posting some mini challenges along the way, some harder than others; keep checking back to the link I send you each week to see what challenges are being presented and to encourage each other as a team!
So….LET’S FLY!!!!!!

Alright ladies, we are off to a good start. I have decided that unless we have a remarkably wonderful day (like EVERYONE way over 500 calories) I won't be posting our daily amounts....I'll do that weekly. You can always PM me if you want to know each day. Also you can look on the map (I gave the address for it in your PM and on this thread) to see where we are.
I have a challenge for you this week! (October 3-8)
Ok, here it is. I want you to look at last week's workout calorie burns. Find the day with the lowest burn, add 200 calories and do your best to make THAT your lowest burn this week. So if your lowest day was 0, this week your lowest would be 200 and so on...get it? If you are a burning machine, you can add more than 200 for your challenge if you want. Report here at the end of the week what your successes are! I am excited to hear from each one of you!0 -
I'll try my best, last week's lowest for 439, so I'll aim for a minimum of 639...but I don't like the idea of not having a lower comparative rest day. But I guess one week wont hurt.0
-
So, if you have a rest day, keep a rest day. I have already had at least one person with 2 days of 0 so that is why I used that as an example. Use only burn days to find your lowest day0

Its still raining here, 5th day in a row... my body is getting better as I increased my med intake! I will try to get my calorie burning way up this week to try and compensate for last week where I missed almost 4 days of working out because of body issues! Tomorrow is suppose to be the last day of rain and cold, and ots nice and sunny skyes for the rest of the week with the temperature going up a bit!!! WHOOO HOOO!
I'll do my best to help the team GO TEAM!!!♥♥♥0 -
VeroJuly I realize the affects the weather has on your health issues...hope the meds help a lot! Ladies today (oct 3) is our biggest burn so far....great job! Lee is out of town (you may have seen his post) and so won't be able to move our marker until Friday.
Babydull, I don't know if he contacted you or you guys are even friends on MFP, but he said he couldn't get the icon to work, so for now we are an airplane on the map.
Stay tuned for more fun and games!0 -

Well done team!
Yes we are friends but he didn't say, I will try to sort it out with him when he returns.0 -
Note to self: lowest burn on not rest day must then be 683 cals.0

I had hoped for a little more interaction on the threads, but am happy you are all doing so well If you are interested, I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite recipes!
This week I thought we'd start with favorite smoothie, or energy drink.
I make the cottage cheese "cheesecake" recipe
Blend the following ingredients in a blender
1 cup of frozen berries
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla.
It is very yummy A friend of mine also adds her ground flax seed to it, which makes a little different texture.0 -
I haven't made this smoothie in forever so now I might have to...but here is my favorite:
Blend together....
1 banana
handful of strawberries
5-6 ice cubes
Splash if orange juice
Its so simple and basic but I love it!0 -
Hey ladies, have you checked the map? We are over Iraq right now! Let's move on as soon as possible I think once he puts in yesterday's number (10/6) we'll be out of there
Have a great day!0 -
Those smoothies sound awesome. I'll definitely have to give cottage cheese a try. Here's my standard:
1/2 c. skim milk
1/2 c. low fat (2%) plain Greek yogurt
1/2 to 1 whole frozen banana
1/2 to 1 c. frozen berries
1 scoop whey protein isolate
a few drops of vanilla or almond extract
If I want different flavors I'll do the whole banana, no berries, and add either some PB2 or cocoa powder, and maybe throw in 1/4 tsp cinnamon.0
