It's not bad if you are eating one or two servings a day of a whole grain, particularly if you are trying to just maintain your weight.
However if you are trying to lose weight it will be harder the more carbs you eat, and your weight loss will be VERY slow. Try to replace some of those starchy foods with fresh vegetables if you want to see faster results!
  • thanks
  • You'll get all backed up and you won't be able to poo. Carbs turn into mucky goo in your stomach and they make you fat. Eat vegetables.

and the reason weight loss would be very slow?

OP carbs aren't bad for you

I think you should eat a variety of food, including carbs. If you want to manage your weight, you only need to count calories input and output. If you want to be healthy, make sure you get all essential nutrients (which you will if you eat a variety of foods, and you only have to be careful if you eliminate certain food groups, such as vegeterians or vegan people do). For the rest, enjoy whatever you like. Trust your body.
  • i dont eat sweets and anything with anything with cane sugar i only like to eat natural sugars

As long as you stay close to MFP carb totals, I don't see a big deal. I eat carbs and sometimes go over a bit on the carbs. I think it helps me to purposely go over my protein grams to sort of off set the carbs but I am not a nutritionist. You have to be able to eat some of the foods you like or you will not be able to stay on this program in my opinion. I don't torture myself and I have still lost 9 pounds since Sept 1. Just follow MFP guidelines as close as possible and you will be ok.
  • thank you
  • I never watch my carbs, but I manage to stay under the goal that is set for me by MFP. I love oats and wheat bread (which I eat a lot of and which tend to have a lot of carbs), and I've managed to lose 50+ pounds in less than 5 months. I don't understand why people try to scare us into thinking carbs are the enemy. It pisses me off. Lol, but ya. Just stay under the carbs that MFP allots for you and I think you'll be fine.

Not in moderation. Whole grain carbs and smart carb choices are a good thing.

My Father is diabetic and my Mom makes pasta for him by Dreamfields which is low carb and has a low glycemic index, also a good choice I don't know if it's available in your area but if it is give it a try. :flowerforyou:
  • thanks yall
