Anyone else obsessed with losing a few extra LBS before Xmas

My original goal was 126lb and I have now managed to lose 20lbs and get to 124, I am kind of happy and still can't quite get my head around how much I have managed to lose, as I still don't feel that different (apart from my clothes - of course!).
For some reason I now have this magic number of 120 in my head and I keep thinking that I "need" to have spare lbs to play with over Xmas as I always seem to gain 5lbs at Xmas without fail.
My rate of loss has slowed down massively now and it will prob take me another 5/6 weeks to lose the last 4lbs- I am actually getting sick of eating so few calories now and just want to go to maintenance but I at the same time I am just dying to lose the last few lbs before the party season starts!
Does anyone else feel like this?

My GW has changed from 117, to 115 to 112 to 110. Each time I reached a goal I gave myself a new one.
I am shorter than you are (5ft 1) but I know that it is time for me to maintain.
My maintenance cals are only 200 more than what I have now anyway!
I also plan to weigh fortnightly to keep myself in check.
It is inevitable that I will be off plan for a few days over Xmas so if need be I'll get back to it (setting my goals back to losing 0.5lbs per week as opposed to maintaining)
it's scary though - since Feb I have been 'losing' so I am kind of in that mindset.0 -
how many cals are you eating? upping mine sure helped when i stopped losing. try increasing cals by 200-300 a day for a week and see what happens. i was eating 1200 a day and stopped losing....then increased to 1400 and started losing again!0

Christmas is my ultimate goal!
I've decided that I NEED to be in the dress that I wore for my 21st (3 years ago) for my Christmas party this year.
I've only worn it once and couldn't even get it up past my bum at the start of my weightloss.
I WILL be in it for my party on December 15th!!0 -

I agree.0 -
I upped my cals to 1400 (0.5 a week) a couple of weeks ago and I lost nothing because I kept thinking I could eat more and kept going over lol
I think this is going to be my last week of eating under 1300 a day- I can't take it any more!:explode: :bigsmile:0 -
Christmas is the goal date for me, mainly because it hit me that last Christmas, I was about 200 lbs (my last weigh in in Sept was 215)! I want an obvious difference this year, and a better lighter healthier start to the new year! :happy:0

I had size 12 in goal for Christmas, but unless I can get the time out of work to go all out on the exercise I'm going to miss - so just going to try my best and go to maintenance cals for the Christmas week I think :-)0

obsessed?? did I hear someone call my name?? LOL I am 10.4 lbs to goal! I need to reach this by 11/11/11 for my son's wedding. So yea you can say I'm a little obsessed but in a good way I think.
I agree with the previous poster that you may need to speed up your metabolism a little by eating more. Especially if your active and have more muscle now. How about adding more calories in the form of pure protein for a few days to a week to see what happens.
good luck and congrats on doing so well!

I completely agree!
Each New Year's eve for the past few years I've ended up wearing a black dress with leggings and Spanx because I end up troughing so much over Xmas! I then carry on like it's Xmas every day throughout January- and then by the end of Jan (which just happens to be my birthday) I have usually gained even more weight and am utterly miserable!
This year I am determined to eat what I like for a couple of days MAXIUMUM and then get back on the healthy eating straight away.0 -
I'd' like to be 11st (154lbs) for xmas.. currently 11st 7.. so 7lbs to drop.. I put extra pound back on by introducing potato again when everyone was saying I need to eat more.. so wasted few days getting that back off when I could have been further down.
I daren't eat any more so trying to think of other ways to lose like sweating and upping exercise.. trying different diet pills or something.0 -
I think it's such a good goal because so many people are saying "after Christmas...." In other words they will eat whatever from October til December and then do the "New Year's Resolution" thing and we all know how effective New Year's Resolutions are  I think I've had one every year for a long time....that I forgot by like, ummm, January 3rd.
You can do it, can you up your cardio a little? (Not knowing what you are doing already....) Or what about trading a carb-y food for a protein-y one!?

It's really mostly in your nutrition. Eat clean - very clean and do your normal workouts. No reason to go all out. Nutrition is the key!0 -
obsessed? nah. but I won't lie, I'd be happy to hit my goal of 300 or less before X-Mas.
