When did you start Oral?

My littlest one has a fever and i hate using a rectal thermometer...at what age is it appropriate to start using an oral one? He's 4 and no, I dont have a digital $$$$$$
and for those of you that looked because of the title.... gotcha!!!!!

He's probably old enough if you hold the thermometer for him...digital ones aren't too expensive nowadays.0

You can use under arm as well, but the reading will be about a degree cooler.0

He's probably old enough to switch to oral now, but don't forget to clean the thermometer real good first.0
