Rant about obnoxious neighbors
Horrible.
The neighborhood board sends me letters all the time for grass, random crap, and even the cars in my driveway. What the eff.
Most recently: Please move your non-moving purple car from view.
First off, it runs. And second, eat my shorts.
Tell me your stories!

Well, we have neighbors that constantly park on our grass, have gone through 4 dogs, have 3 outdoor cats, leave their teenage kids at home late at night (who consequently harass us), rev their motorcycle/ATV/Jet Ski every Saturday morning, throw cig butts on my lawn, and I could probably go on.0

I used to get letter too! Then I got a pitbull  They used to say my backyard wasn't cut LOW enough and I have a 6ft privacy fence! Why the hell are you looking? AND once my son's car had a flat and we put it up on the jack and ran to the tire store and sure as **** I had a letter stating I had 24hrs to remove my nonrunning car! UGH! We aren't allowed to work on cars in our own drive way! I own my house!!! How are they going to tell me I can't change my oil?? Losers! Nothing better to do. I just ignore them now0

Gosh that is annoying Sorry you have to deal with petty stress like that.0

makes me glad i don't have a neighborhood association...haha0

My neighbor has a skunk living under his shed, and won't get rid of it. His shed is 8 feet away from mine.
When my dogs get sprayed, they smell of skunk all winter, no matter how much peroxide solution I pour on them, especially my collie. There can be up to 20 skunks sharing a den, so I'm hoping this one won't get babies.0 -
Ugh.... I have neighbors that first off..... I live in the country.... and they purposely moved the original plan of where their house was GOING to be to as close as f'ing possible to mine. So, their house is less than 100 yards from my garage.
Second, they have a Dennis the Menace type of son that they show absolutely 0 discipline towards, so he's ALWAYS in my yard with his dog (who likes to crap on my front porch), and looking in the windows of my house. Because of him, I'm always leaving my curtains drawn. I look like a recluse because I never open my blinds. And every time we have company over, that kid is always coming over and taking food. (Even if we're in the house, he just comes right on in. WTF?!?!?!)
Third, I'm not going to say what religion they are, but they believe that if they're robbed, it's because someone needed their things more than they needed them. (Aka, God's plan). So, these people are KNOWN on the road (and in the area) for not ever locking their doors, garage, windows.... leaving things outside, such as gokarts (they're on their 3rd one in 2 years), tractors, pushmowers, leaving the keys in the truck and van, (which have both been stolen and returned at least 3 times since we've been in the house for the past 3 years), the GPS's in both vehicles are gone...... I guess I just get irritated that people can be so..... naive? is that the word I'm looking for?..... and then, because I live next door, I don't want people thinking that I'm an easy target as well..... I work hard for my things, and I will be damned if they'll be stolen from me.
I guess I get a break for 2 years, starting in January. Their higher power told them that they need to go to Haiti for two years. Maybe my curtains and blinds will finally open.....
ETA: Oh, forgot to mention: Little $ hithead also likes to "write" on my corvette. I caught him doing it last week when the farmer behind us was harvesting and the dust was drifting over.... I think my rage was bad enough that his dog ran away before he did......0 -
I keep my yard immaculate and have received the "yard of the month" award several times.
My neighbors mow their yard once every 6-8 weeks and feel the need to turn around in my yard with the mower deck all the way on the ground and fully engaged, leaving nice big dead grass circles all over my yard.
Then have the nerve to ask me to deed over part of MY property to them so we don't have to argue about it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGH!!!!!!!!!0 -
We have this one house in our neighborhood with tall grass they're always too lazy to cut and a BUNCH of cars in their driveway. What the eff?
Most recently, our HOA president posted a letter to their house to move their busted down purple car from view because it never moves.
I wonder what they're going to about the letter?0 -
my neighbor complains when she is having a party and her guests can't park on the street (public parking) because sometimes my husband parks his work truck on the street. we have a very long driveway, and he goes to work at 4am, his truck has a deafening back-up alarm on it that goes off the whole time he's leaving. We try to avoid that, our other neighbors just had a baby, so he's been parking on the street where he can quietly pull away in the morning. These other neighbors actually looked up the company written on my husband's truck, and called them to complain (they told her tough titty, if it's not parked illegally they're not doing anything!) it's just stressful and annoying, I don't understand what makes her think that is "her" parking for when she has functions and no one else on the block is allowed to use it. He doesn't even do it every night. sometimes we like to pull our cars out of our drive way so our toddler can learn to skate, we can clean the garage, move furniture, etc, yesterday when he came home and parked, she walked out and started taking pictures of his truck!! I walked down and stood on the sidewalk near her and started taking my own pictures!!! hah! These are also the neighbors that have a pretty, perfect, green lawn.....because their dog craps and pees in MINE!!!0

I live in a ground floor flat and my motorbike is parked right outside my living room window on some hard standing.. The bike's cover has about 5 or 6 cigarette burns on it (each marked by it's own individual patch made of duct tape) and I've had to replace both seats because the upstairs neighbours and their guests like to use my garden as their ashtray. When challenged they deny it, of course.
And my other upstairs neighbour paid someone to paint her balcony railings and he managed to cover the bike in white paint spatters. I was literally incoherent with rage when I saw it. :explode: The first time the neighbour came to me to apologise I told her to go away because I knew that I would do Irreparable damage do our relationship if I spoke about it at that time. It was about a week before I could have a conversation with her about it. Credit where it's due she offered to pay to get it sorted.0 -
I used to have neighbors that blasted music so loudly my house would vibrate....oh and the hours they would do those were from midnight to 3am. They let their weeds get so crazy and high critters became a problem. I have since moved into a community with an HOA.0
-
i got a letter from my HOA for my tree in my patio being a foot too tall? Were talking 12 inches here.................
Who goes around and checks this stuff? lol0 -
I also get letters about my grass being long but I have someone come cut it professionally every two weeks. Sometimes weeds get longer than the grass because neighbors think let their dogs crap by everyone's mailboxes and don't pick it up.
Called the cops once because a board woman was walking to my back yard, snooping. I would have not cared but she ran back to her car before I could run to the front door. I watched her drive away from my driveway. Complete *kitten*.
Someone called the cops on my boyfriend and his friends while they were working on said running purple car and had the nerve to tell them they thought it was stolen!! Cop came and said we had nosy neighbors. Understatement.0 -
When we lived at our old apt complex, we got some new downstairs neighbors. One night shortly after they moved in, my kids and I are quietly watching TV. My daughter was sick & lying on the loveseat and my son & I were kicked back on the couch. My upstairs neighbors were doing their usual acrobatics. Downstairs neighbor comes knocking on our door & tells us to keep it down. :noway: I ended up making an ER run with my daughter because the Swine Flu hit a few kids at her school and she had all the symptoms. I swear, if we farted too loud they'd bang on the floor with a broom or something.
Down we live downstairs & our upstairs neighbors like to do construction projects of some kind at all hours. My kids go to bed at 9 & these people are hammering stuff together or hanging stuff on the walls @ 10 on a school night...a$$hats...0 -
We live in New Zealand where nobody gives a ......hoot...... about how long their neighbour's grass is, how tall their trees are or if their cars go. We don't have any sort of associations for neighborhoods, well as far as I know we don't and we have lived in a few different places.
What I do have is a really annoying set of neighbors! They are a couple with 3 kids who they constantly yell at. Very VERY loudly! And one of their kids keeps coming over to our house and we keep sending him home again, the mum doesn't even know he's missing but she is aware that he does come over here (just not when it's actually happening)
We are moving in a couple of months so fingers crossed we have quieter neighbors!0 -
makes me glad i don't have a neighborhood association...haha
Amen, brother!0 -
Our next door neighbor has extended family staying with them too and so between them there are 6 adults, 8 children, and 2 dogs. The kids play out front without supervision most of the time and when they do they break my sprinkler heads and mess with my stuff in my flower beds. about ready to plant a hedge border around my yard to keep them out0

My "neighbors" are the City Hall, a bank and two gay guys (one of whom is my uncle). They all have nice landscaping and make my yard look awful.0

I have annoying neighbor kids but nothing like this but my sister and brother-in-law have thee worst neighbor she is constantly calling the cops on them because they park in their own driveway and the car "hangs" over the sidewalk an inch. She will go out there and take pictures of it and she actually sent a letter to my sister stating by law in Michigan you can't have a daycare without a license and to please keep the kids away from her gate because it annoys her dogs. First off my sister doesn't run a daycare she strictly watches my children and one is 4 and the other is 6 months. When my daughter plays in the backyard her dogs go pyscho and their is a 6ft privacy fence too.
She peeks out her window everytime I pull in the driveway and she will say "peek a boo" and she will *cough* and say things like white trash and she calls my sister a skinny ***** all the time...um ok that's not really an insult if you ask me!
She is a frickin crazy *kitten*!0 -
If you're part of an HOA, then the letters are legit.
I know they are. Mostly. I've already been fined for the grass once and the fine was more than I pay the man that cuts it. REGULARLY. My neighbors are all starting to send their own letters back to them as retaliation. I'm just non confrontational.
We're moving the car but REALLY?! I do NOT even rent and I can't have whatever *moving* car in my driveway I want? It's not a rusted out piece of crap, it's just purple.
My neighbors got the same letter a few weeks ago. They have two of the same color/model Lexus and they don't drive one often because they have three cars between the two of them. Same thing: "Please move your non functioning Lexus." It's insane. So I guess we have to add" Car Musical Chairs To Prove They Still Function" to the list of annoying things my neighborhood makes us do.0 -
Be careful. My mom told me about some neighbor where we live who were crazy like that. The property lines were skewed, and so in order to get into their driveway, the nice neighbors had to go onto part of his road thing first. He was so crazy about it, he hired someone to put a boulder in the driveway. o_O
When the nice neighbors confronted him, he killed them both. He then lied and said that the neighbors had tried to kill him (he was hella old), but it was caught on tape. >_<

I'm sure if anyone even thinks about killing anyone else in this neighborhood they'd get a letter first.
also, that's terrifying.0 -
Ok, I rent in a HOA neighborhood. Not a big deal to abide by the rules, unlike my neighbors on BOTH sides. The neighbor to my left has a HUGE *kitten* truck. She likes to park it in front of the houses taking up pretty much 2 spaces. Parking is EXTREMELY limited here. It states in the handbook that larger vehicles should b parked in the line painted areas, not infront of houses along the grass.... Now, my other neighbor on the right has a motorcycle. It states in the handbook that motorcycles are not to be parked in front of the houses along the grass like a "normal" car would park, but running vertically to the curb to take up as little space as possible. We don't have curbs in front of our houses, just grass. The curbs are at the end of our parking sections in front of the houses. My neighbor likes to park his bike like a car, not like how my hubby has his bike.... the right way. It totally pisses me off when i come home and can't find a spot bc his damn bike is parked like a car. Oh, and he's also the loud noisy neighbor that has a tiny pool in his backyard where kids will be screaming and jumping into it at 2 am....0
