willpower disappeared with the summer

The cold windy weather is here already, the beginning of the week we had a heat wave,
Salad days have gone now the cook book has turned to Casseroles in the slow cooker, with fluffy dumplings.
How can i resist, winter days are made for recipes like these.
I need the will power to resist stodgy home made winter dinners, stodgy home made winter steam puddings.
The cold weather has only just started but where are you WILL POWER, where are you when i need you to nip this in the bud before it starts.......

Visit the "Recipes" message board often for new recipes that may be a healthy alternative to some of your favorite winter foods. Most recipe websites, like AllRecipes.Com also have a healthy section that might offer some good alternatives as well. I don't plan on giving up my delicious winter meals...just tweaking them to be more health conscious :-)
Maybe his will help: http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Healthy-Recipes/main.aspx0 -
Now is the best time to lose weight for you. Have hearty soup recipes at hand.'Soup is fantastic. But you'll be wearing clothes that cover you up throughout winter. This is like Bonus season cause you can get your body perfect and have everyone comment when you shed the clothes for summer.0

Yup. Me too. Not willpower exactly, but I started uni last week, and I simply don't have any time to exercise outside of my classes. I only get 15 child free hours a week, and so far they are ALL taken up travelling to and from lectures. Added to that, it's cold and I want food to warm me up. I am currently curled up on my sofa cold and miserable.0

This is a great time for fall vegetables too! Squash, parsnips, pumpkin, etc... Warm, nourishing soups without over-blown calorie counts.... It is a great time for roasting turkeys and chicken, and you know as well as I they make good soup! If you like the slow cooker, try things like chili made with ground turkey instead of beef... loaded with beans and tomato... delicious AND tasty!! Try oatmeal with fruit for breakfast... There is so much you can do to have warm, belly-satisfying meals that taste sinful but really aren't.
I say, just consider the end of BBQ/Salad season to be a chance to try new recipes, or to try tweaking old favorites to make them better for you. ...And who says you have to retire the salads entirely? I love chicken breasts, oven roasted with a side salad made of spinach, green pepper, tomato, hard boiled egg, red onion and cucumber.... Its all about being creative. And once the snow hits, shoveling is great exercise! Get a sled and go tobogganing like when you were a kid. It's still a blast, and trudging up the hill is great exercise. Get snowshoes, try skiing. (Don't want to go downhill? Try cross country!)
The weather changing is nothing more than another challenge... and you can do it!0 -
Thank you everyone for your messages, lots of good advice there.
I must admit i do love all kinds of vegetables, and for the next 3 months i will be travelling about due to work changes so chunky soups in the slow cooker will be great to come home to now its colder and the nights drawing in.
And i will check out the recipe sites thank you very much. Jane.0
