You'll fluctuate. Give it a week or two.

Also, you should be eating AT goal, not under. And any calories you burn off in exercise, eat back.
  • I am doing the 30 day shred n I think u might have gained some muscle weight. That has to be the reason especially if you are eating right... In Jillian's book she even says u mite not lose weight that fast at first but you may notice the change in your body inches... Don't get discouraged this is the real test to keep on going even when u don't see the weight on the scale keep up the great work! I need to be more like n eat less!!! Haha

I usually will hit a low weight for myself and then will be above that low weight for 1 or 2 weeks until I weigh in at a new low. Give it some time as long as you are eating the same and doing the same exercise you will be just fine!!:glasses:
  • Thank you for posting this.

The same is happening to me, I've gained 2 at least, maybe 3 pounds!

I appreciate this post too. Same is happening to me. I am running 6 miles every other day. I started 30DS 4 days ago and I gained 2lbs! Ugh. I feel a bit tired and even though I am staying near my calorie goal, I'm probably not eating as much protein as I should. Hoping that if I stick with it I will see a drop after the weekend.
  • (I know this is embarrassing but if you're coming up to your period, you retain fluids :) )

Your weight fluctuates so much, try not to get on the scale every day. It can change throughout the day. Some days if you eat a lot of sodium, you'll retain fluids. Everything can affect weight. Hell, you can have a Poo and lose a pound, lol.

I gained about three pounds when starting 30 Day Shred last month. I think I read on one of the message boards here that when you are in the process of building muscle your muscles will retain water, so that may be what is happening to you. You will probably lose it once you get on week 3.

Are you certain your calculating your calories down to the T? If you've been consistently losing pounds, a hiccup like that is usually an indicator of just water weight. How often are you checking your weight, that's important mentally of course. Your just psyching yourself out if your doing it every 2-3 days. You need to jump on the scale at least 1x a week or once every other week. That's the best way to see how your progress is going. What is your maintenance calories? And what is your current daily calorie consumption?
  • I have been in plateau for four weeks been doing insanity for two and got on the scale this morning to see iv put on weight and I can see NO difference in my shape. It is so frustrating it was so much easier to stay on track even losing minimal amounts but now all I want is about 12 fajitas, and a dominos.... And an entire sticky toffee pudding fro
    M&S.

Nonetheless I am going to be a lot stricter with my diet. I have been staying mostly under goal but to be honest the foods iv been having aren't always the cleanest. Think if I swap my morning toast for egg White omelette and cottage cheese and swap in a yoghurt at lunch for the .... Quavers (hangs head in crispy cheesy shame)

We just have to keep going and hope that by plugging through it will start to drop again!
