Question about weighing in

I've been weighing myself every day to see when I hit 250 (it happened on Friday!!). This morning I weighed in for the heck of it and the scale reads 248.6... Do I log this? Fridays are my official weigh in days but anytime the scale reads lower than my current weight, I seem to log it. Is this fair? Should I wait and see? What would you do?

Congrats to you! And by all means, log your progress, if you've made it -- you earned it! I personally cannot weigh myself daily. Once a week is a chore for me, and it makes me nuts at that. Way to go!0

I log whenever I see a decent change too. I don't see what harm it can do, your body doesn't know that it has to stick to a once a week weight loss rule, so why log it like that?0

LOG IT!!! it gives me motivation if the number goes higher than that when I see the lowest I have been :-)0

i always log it if i weigh in at a loss, and i weigh myself every day
i guess thats probably not what you're supposed to do, but i know my body and when i follow my calorie restrictions i lose weight and it doesn't come back so if it comes off I'm logging it0 -
I always log the lowest number that I see because it's closer to your actual body weight anyway. Then if the weight jumps back up I won't "check in" again at MFP until it's lower than the previous number. I never log a gain, only losses.
Good luck to you and congrats on hitting 250 (and below!) :flowerforyou:0 -
I'd like to say wait till your official weigh in day and log that weight. But I can't do it! If I step on the scale and it tells me a lower weight I always log it.
 If the scale starts to be as evil as mine you might need to weigh once or twice a week instead of daily.

I also weigh every day because I keep a running average going, it's the geek in me I guess I log all my losses and not the gains ( unless they stick around for a long time). This is one way I keep myself motivated and also, once I've logged a loss, I work like hell to make it sticks!0

These days, now I'm only losing around half a pound a week, I tend to no longer log single day big drops, when it's obvious that it's not a "real" weight, eg if I've got up super late - but only because it's disheartening to then see the scales read higher than that for the next few weeks.
The way I see it, yes I've got up that late before, but I've never been as light as that before.
EDITED TO ADD: I measure and weigh myself every day and enter those figures along with body fat % onto a spreadsheet, in this post I'm talking about logging weight on here.0 -
I would drive myself AND my hubby crazy
if I weighed in every day. I weigh-in once a week -- that's just me.
If you're losing then by all means, post it :happy:0 -
LOG IT YOU EARNED IT !!!0

I would drive myself AND my hubby crazy if I weighed in every day. I weigh-in once a week -- that's just me.
My weight varies from day to day, and if I happened to be heavier on "weigh in day" I'd feel like a failure all week - and be far more likely to say "I was good all last week, I didn't lose anything, why bother".
Weighing myself every day, I have learned a lot about the temporary effects of sodium, looseness or otherwise of the bowels, exercise and TOM on my body - it's far less random than I'd thought and I'm far more sanguine about "increases" in weight.
EDITED TO ADD: Meant to say, well done on getting to the 250 mark, that's a real milestone!0 -
Thanks folks! I'll punch 'er into the weigh in log! I was just nervous about it I guess! :-P0

As a rule I weigh twice a week but if I just got to stand on those scales and I have lost I always log. I find it gives me a buzz to see any loss on my ticker and encourages me to my official weigh day0

I log anytime I see a loss on the scale. If there's no loss...i don't log it. Keeps my self-esteem up that way. It's not cheating...you've lost that 1.8 pounds fair and square. Enjoy it!!0
