Hey everyone,
My name is Sarah and I have been trying to lose weight for awhile now, just lacking motivation. But seeing as I graduate in May (2012) I really want to lose some weight before I graduate. I know that this takes discipline and I am willing to work towards it, the only thing I worry about is losing motivation. Thanks for reading my post, and I hope to hear from some of you on how you stayed motivated?
Thanks,
Sarah

"Motivation is a decision not a feeling" You need to push yourself to get started and then it gets easier. good luck0

Hi Sarah, Kthom is right...you need to just decide and get started, your motivation will grow more and more each day when you see you are succeeding! :flowerforyou: feel free to add me as a friend if you like.0

Why are you losing weight? How far have you come? Who are you losing weight for? Answer these questions and you'll find your motivation. I'm personally 318 pounds down from 340 and have another 130 pounds to lose. If I don't lose the weight I may die of a variety of obesity related diseases(cancer, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke). If this happens I will no longer be able to watch my kids grow up and be able to grow old with my wife. I will lose the weight and you will too!

I really think getting healthy and staying on track is 90% mental! the rest is hard physical labor:) I try not to get all caught up in short term goals-like if I dropped a pound in a week- actually I only weigh in about 1/month. I don't have the highest self-esteem anyway so I really rely on other people's positive comments and actually seeing results. Keep checking out the success stories on here and pictures. I love those. Ask other people what they see in you. Treat yourself- I actually do this in a few ways. If I stick with a healthy diet each day- I allow myself to choose to eat a small piece of dark chocolate for a treat:) I also let myself buy a new workout dvd at the end of each month- that works great ! I love variety and just fun stuff! Good luck!0

Why am I doing this? I am doing this because I no longer feel comfortable with my body. I don’t fit into chairs, or airplane seats like I once did and I am never comfortable sitting down anymore. I don’t like undressing, even if it’s just me there. I am doing this for me. I have actually backtracked since I said I wanted to do this, but I am prepared to do a full 180 and start head on losing weight. I know its going to be hard, but I believe what you guys are saying that it is 90% mental, and I just need to stay in this frame of mind and not let my urges get the best of me. Thank you guys for posting, and I really appreciate any feedback! :happy:0
