Yay its the weekend!!! Ok so I need some advice... I am more committed than ever to get healthy and reach my fitness goal. I have been on zumba, turbo jam, and pilates for months and I work out 6 days a week. Last year I bought TurboFire and it kicked my booty! I had to sell it because I wasnt fit enough to keep up and the HIIT workouts would make me very ill. I figured that was completely my fault because I had not worked out at all before I purchased it and was really out of shape. Well I always hear the rave reviews of P90x, but to be honest, I am terrified of this workout. Especially now that I hear a P90x 2 is on its way. As much as I love Chalene, would the next logical step to amp up my routine is to go back to TurboFire so I can eventually get to the level I need to be for P90x? I have only see infomercials for it and no one I know owns it.

I think either one is okay. You can do what you can do. You know you have to build up to that point, so try to make it your personal goal:)

There's also Chalean Extreme which focus' more on building lean muscle vs. cardio like TF does. I've heard it referred to as the girly P90X and in December, when I am done with TF, I am going to do the hybrid of TF & CHX.

I love Turbo Fire, so I would say go with that one.. I have P90X, but just didn't really care for it, so it's just been sitting on my shelf..lol! There is also Chalean Extreme which is weights with some cardio too.

Insanity allllllllllllllllllllll the way !!!! I've been doing it for a while now and have seen great results. I have played sports all of my life, even a year of college basketball. So I thought I was in great shape but once I started insanity it brought me back down to earth. Like Shaun T says " Insanity is not for everybody " and he is right if you want to be in the best shape of your life and follow a good diet Insanity is the way to go alll the way. But its for Lions and you have to kind of be Insane. No disrespect to p90x or turbo but Insanity is where its at !!!!!

LOL I love how its referred to the girly P90x! That put a big smile on my face :o). I completely forgot about Chalean Extreme. Definitely going to be checking that out as well. Thank you!
  • I have both programmes and although both are fantastic, I would probably recommend TurboFire as I find Chalene extremely motivating and I don't think p90x will give you that motivation. You also have to remember you get out what you put in, so your results are only as good as the effort you put into either programme so I would choose the programme you think you will enjoy the most as it will make the difference when you're not feeling the most enthusiastic about working out.

It kind of depends on what you like. I have both P90X and TurboFire. I did two rounds of P90X and now i'm doing a hybrid of the two. If you want strength training with weights then the P90X program would be better. TurboFire has a lot more cardio and minimal strength training. If you liked the motivation that you got from TurboFire's party atmosphere but it's still too tough for you then why not just modify until you've built up your endurance? At the beginning of P90X it was super, super, super tough for me. Now, while it's still very challenging I can do most of what they do although I still modify some things. Whatever you choose there should be things you can do to modify the moves that you can't do. And if HIIT is a problem just don't do them high intensity (and skip the HIIT 15, 20, etc DVDs entirely until you can do the short ones in the regular workouts.) It's all about building up your fitness. No matter what you decide to do just remember you're working toward something. Even when the workouts get easier you should be able to modify them again to make them more challenging. :)

I've never done P90X, but I'm doing the TurboFire/CLX hybrid and I love it.
