Best workout at the gym for your thighs?

So I REALLY need some help with my thunder thighs and I'm wondering what people thought was the best equipment at the gym to shrink them. I use the elliptical a lot and have since upped the intensity to a 7 and I can feel it in my legs which is great! But maybe the treadmill is better or the bike? Or maybe I should just mix it up and use all of the machines sometime during the week. What do you guys think?

You won't shrink thighs by only training them.
You can't spot train fat away from a specifc area, that's why doing 1,000 crunches a day can still leave a person tubby!
Best to go for an overall body workout and give it time. You'll notice a change with consistent effort and hard work, and eating right.
You might notice it takes longer to loose fat from the thigh, bum or belly area as typically these are where the body stores its fat reserves and will hold on to them for as long as possible, so don't be disheartened if say some parts slim quicker than others: this is normal.
Just keep pushing it each time and with time and self discpline, it'll happen.0 -

Keep up your cardio to help all over fat burn.
Best thigh exercises I've found, coming directly from one Thunder Thigh to another
- the adduction/abduction gym machine... like a thigh master.
- using a tension band (like a big rubber band) around the ankles and doing large side steps (works off those saddlebags)
- lunges (groan)
- squats (moan)
- yoga is GREAT to strength leg muscles
- RUNNING. I cannot "run" but I can do interval jogging... a walk with interspersed jogging for as long as I can hack it (started with 30sec of jogging, can do 3-5min at a time now)
BTW, I am THISCLOSE to being able to walk without my thighs rubbing together. Maybe by next summer we will both be there!!0 -
I hear ya!
I'll be glad to join the No Thigh Rub Club!!

I would have to think the elliptical would be great at this as far as cardio equipment goes.0

I will have to agree about the spot reduction, doesn't happen, However, I haven't done anything except my treadmill and i have noticed mine don't rub together as much anymore, so i have been losing everywhere. I know i do need to start doiing some toning exercises but i have been waiting till i get closer to my goal weight to do. I bought the 30 day shred about 2 weeks ago but haven't had a chance to use it, apparently it is really good.
I'm going to also start doing some of what a pp said about adduction/abduction, squats and lunges .
Good Luck to you!!0 -

the best exercises to tone your legs and behind are squats and lunges that you do on your own, not with the machines. It will engage every muscle in your legs, plus the rest of the body as well. The good news is that you can do them at home too.
If you are talking about reducing fat, any cardio will do that so choose something that you enjoy and will continue doing. I like the elliptical but someone posted recently that unless you are using enough tension it's not an optimal exercise. I use the machine that does hill intervals.
I also really like the incline treadmill that allows you to walk at much higher than normal inclines from other treadmills. Not only does it get your heart rate up, you can also feel it toning your legs and your core.0
