Does anyone else get guilty when they eat a lot of calories when they exercise a lot? I ate almost 1,900 calories yesterday and I burned like 500 calories and my goal is 1,200 to 1,500 but when i see it over that, even if i had to eat them back because of exercise, i get guilty and upset about it.

It depends, if my intensity was high, no, if I know it was a slack workout then yes, I know I shouldn't have and then I just adjust the next few days, either working harder or just eating right on track. Fitness and weight loss is a definite balancing act, and you just get better at doing it over time.0

No need to be guilty, if your refueling with calories to make up for the calories burned. Just make sure your consuming the proper amount of calories and macro nutrients. Like grilled chicken breast, salad with light dressing, etc. I usually suggest eating a high protein meal post work out. That is within that 500 calories that you had burned exercising.0 -

Ok.. I feel a tad guilty. BUT I remind myself that I enjoyed it while I ate it.. and there is always tomorrow! I will do even better tomorrow and learn from today.
I feel guilty when I cut into my exercise calories. I don't like eating my exercise calories!! But I ate some of them today, and there is always tomorrow!!
Good Luck!0 -

Do you feel guilty if you have to fill up the gas tank on your car after driving a long distance?
Food is fuel. Delicious fuel, but still fuel. Don't give it emotions, either good ones or bad ones.0 -

I eat the same intake daily regardless of activity, but that being said I don't have guilt on the occasion that I go over my calorie total.
I can't verify this but it makes sense to me (just something I've read), that excessive guilt about food can lead to ED's. Just something worth noting.0 -

Edith, we are very close in age...I very quickly looked at your diary. I wasn't losing any weight until I increased my calorie intake, Yes, increased! I now eat about 1600 calories a day w/ exercise!! I am now steadily losing 1-2 lbs a week!0
