Daily Challenge for Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011:
Length of Challenge: --
Sunday is usually a rest day for me as far as exercise goes, so today's challenge is going to be a dietary one. Today, try your best to replace all the bread you would eat with vegetables. While I believe that ideally we should eat as low carb as possible, I'm not religious about it. Carbs are not the enemy and bread is not da' debil. But the one thing I think we can all use more of is fresh vegetables. Did you know that now it's recommended that we eat 9-11 servings of vegetables every day? They are a nutrient-dense, low calorie way to fill yourself up, and the best way to get as many as possible in is to replace something else.
If you don't think you can make it, replacing all of your bread with vegetables, just replace one or two servings of bread with an extra serving of vegetables today. I guarantee that you will feel better!
(I'm going to do my best to post daily challenges just to help motivate others to add little things than can help them improve their diet and exercise routines. This isn't a challenge that will grow to the point that it takes over your normal routine. I'm just looking to add 1-5 minutes of fitness, taking it from places you might not even realize you have it. Some days I might miss here and there, but you can always be looking for little things you can do to get something extra in. Establishing good habits is as easy as making small changes daily...you can do it! **I've also decided to include the occasional dietary challenge. For lasting weight loss and good health, habit changes need to be made to more than just our exercise!)
