Two years ago, I was a senior in high school. I basically prided myself in being "cool" because I didn't participate in school activities. I laughed at student athletes... even though I was secretly jealous of their abilities. I thought I would never be talented enough to participate in sports, so I just called student athletes crazy and turned my head. My extra curricular activites that year included drinking & picking up the wonderful habit of smoking.
OH.. and did I mention topping out at my highest weight of 160 lbs.

The thought of going to college & gaining the "freshmen 15" scared me to death, so I got a gym membership. I slowly started going to the gym and running on the treadmill because that's the only machine I thought was "easy" to use. I didn't want to look stupid trying to do anything else for the first time, so I just kept going on the mill. By the end of the first semester, I dropped 15 pounds (without the help of MFP or any diet)

I joined MFP in April, and I started taking my diet and exercise seriously. The more I ran, the more I could eat, and I liked to eat
! So I ran. The furthest I had ever ran prior to April was 5 miles (which took 60 min). I started pushing myself more, and I signed up for my first street race (a 5k). I was so happy with my time of 24:39, that I contacted my University's cross country coach without really even thinking about it. Turns out... I am now on the team.

I am the ONLY girl on the team who NEVER ran high school cross country. && I was fast enough to past the time trail to get to run in all the meets this year, and I am NOT the slowest
!
DON'T EVER THINK YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! I doubted myself, but i'm capable of so much more than I ever gave myself credit for.
**the girl who currently holds the records for fastest 5k (17:58) at our school was a 25 year old girl who went back to school, and she NEVER ran in high school...
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING.
