This is a question for anyone who's ever completed the shred or at least got a decent way through it.
I'm currently on day 9 and so far I am back at my starting weight, having gained and lost 1lb :frown: I've stuck with it, as I know this can happen due to water weight etc (I've read the info on DOMS) but to be honest I'm starting to feel a bit disheartened with the whole thing because I'm not really enjoying it and I've even gained 1/2 inch around my arms and thigh.
Anyway, my question is when did the weight start coming off? Did you suddenly start to notice a difference?
I know there are loads of before and after pics, but I just wanted to know about weight and stuff.
Thanks.

I never really lost weight with 30 D.S. but i can say that my arms got more toned and I definitely felt more fit, that's worth something right?0

Did you take your measurements before? I didn't lose a ton of weight on the scale but I DID lose a ton in inches. You gain so much muscle that it doesn't look like anything is changing on the scale but by the end of the 2nd level I was down a size in my jeans and my arms were way more toned. Measurements are the best way to guage your progress with 30DS. Try on some clothes that were tight and see if they're getting a little baggy...0

I think I was on day 18 before I even lost anything. It was so frustrating. But I noticed my clothes were fitting better. Even when the 30 day shred was done I was only at a weight loss of about 4 pounds. But, if you keep at it you will find that all of a sudden something just clicks. I have done the 30 day shred about 3 total times now and I think it is an important part of my exercise program. I also take it slow. Even after doing it so often I am only on level 2. I might move up to level 3 the next time, but until I can keep up with Natalie and do everything she is doing I am content to just stay on level 2.0

I did it for a month just before I got married and I only lost about 7 pounds but I really toned up. You lose more inches than pounds since muscle weighs more than fat. If you want the scale to talk happy to you as well then I would add in a second workout of pure cardio three to five times a week.0

Thanks everyone. I do cardio too, I actually do beween 30 -40 minutes of cardio as a warm-up to the shred most days (sounds nuts I know) or my knees hurt, but since I started the shred, the scales stopped moving!! I'm just going to assume from what everyone's said that it's temporary and will resume post shred..
As for measurements, I have taken measurements - I lost a pesky 1/4 inch from my hips and gained on my arms and thighs, although I did manage 1 inch from my waist. However, considering all the cardio I do, I'd expect a bit more. All my clothes fit the same however :grumble:
I will stick with it. I like what Pocomama says about being able to keep up with Natalie, I'm on level 1 at the moment and I can keep up with her for everything but push ups, though when I started, I could barely follow Anita, so there is defintely some improvement.
I'll see how level 2 goes. I don't want to quit if I'm on the verge of a major weight or inch loss breakthrough, but everything seems to have ground to a halt since I started, it seems to be all pain, no gain lol.0 -
I didn't really lose till the last week, maybe week and a half and then the weight all just fell off at once. When you start new strength training your muscles will retain water to help them rebuild and repair, that is probably accounting for why the scale isn't moving. Don't worry it will happen. And absolute worst case scenario if you don't lose anything (which I don't think is likely) then it was only 30 days and you will still have made progress in your overall fitness level.0
