Just wanted to get some feedback on how often people weigh in? I am thinking weekly on Monday mornings....what do you do?

Replies

  • i do it daily. but many people do once a week. if fluctuations bother you tremendously then once a week is best.

i can weigh 2-3 pounds more on any given day and then drop 2-3 pounds the next. so fluctuations are normal to me.

I have a great app on my phone that I use to weigh daily. It has a graph. When there are spikes, I look at the day before's diary. I enter a weight loss into MFP when it is a significant one. I've learned my weight fluctuate up and down 3lbs a week.

I do it weekly because I think I would freak out if my weight fluctuated a lot.

I generally weigh myself 1-3x per week. I will only track it on MFP when I have a loss. Fluctuation is completely normal, so if I go a week or two without recording it online, it just means I have maintained the same weight. I don't consider this cheating because ultimately my goal is to lose weight, so I may go three weeks without a weigh in, but I want my current recorded number to be less than my last.
  • I weigh myself once a day (in the morning, naked, right after "going") but I generally only weigh-in once a week.

Mondays are my "official" weigh-in day, but I sometimes check in during the week just to see if I'm on track. I try not to do it every day, though, because I freak out otherwise. Usually, by Monday morning I am showing a good result from the previous Monday.

I weigh every day EXCEPT mornings following special days where I've eaten way past my calories or tons of sodium. It happens now and again, usually I let myself have one relaxed day every week or two to go out with the SO for a decent meal, but I know full well without stepping on the scale it will be up, so I'd rather wait an extra day or two for things to even back out.
