Dear All,
I have been working out for the past 3 months. I have in total 10 kgs/22 pounds to lose and have lost 4 kgs/8.8 pounds so far. I am sticking to 1200 cal and consume few of exercise calories. I do Jillian Micheals circuit training 3 days a week and 2 days cardio. I am not losing weight anymore. Can anyone tell where am I going wrong? I will measure my inches in few days hope to have lost some there if not weight.
Thank you all in advance.
Regards,

You probably need to eat more. If you are working out, you need to be eating those workout calories to at least net 1200. Your body is probably storing most of your food because you aren't eating enough. Believe it or not, but going up in calories often helps people get over the plateau.

Yep. When that happened to me, I added 200 calories a day and by the end of the week the plateau was history. I went from about 1300 to about 1500 even tho usually I'm closer to 1400. Any time my loss stops for more than a week I bump it back up to 1500 and the problem goes away.

I suppose I could just slack off on my workout but I like working out too much - so I EAT instead. The body wants what the body wants!

    Hi

I have reached exactly the same problem and put a post in the forum just yesterday about it , the replies i got were very helpful and all said the same as above you need to up your calories ... i only have 2lb left to reach my goal but have not gained or lost for the past 3 weeks ... so i have followed the advice i was given and i have dropped my weekly weight loss to 0.5lb (rather than 1lb) and it has upped my calories to 1510 instead of 1260 .... i am hoping this will work for me and i hope it works for you too .
    Good luck

Hi ..I changed my weekly weight loss from 2 lbs to 1 pound..the calories still remain the same 1200. So do you suggest I should bring it to 0.5 lbs per week?

Yes, you haven't got much to lose, so .5 a week is a good goal. If you are currently at 1200 and are having a bunch of left over calories everyday, you can keep it at 1200, but aim for no leftover calories. Eat your exercise calories! :)

I've noticed the same thing - have lost about 25 pounds over the last 4 months (using MFP for 3 of them, what a great tool!) - and occasionally, about once a month, I'll hit a weight loss plateau. I finished the "Couch to 5k" program and am now doing "Couch to 10k" so my workouts have actually been steadily increasing in intensity. Well, I'm smack in the middle of a plateau now. Ran about four miles yesterday and consumed almost all my exercise calories, too. Scale hasn't budged. It's counter-intuitive, but I'm going to eat more than usual today - going to have that Chinese lunch I've been craving - because time after time, I find that if I stop checking the scale, relax the rules on myself for a day or two and follow my body's craving rather than an exact number of calories, then follow plan for about four or five days before I check the scale, I ***always*** see a loss of a few pounds. Always.
