a few NSV's for a newbie

Last week was my birthday and I had 5 days packed full of plans for dinners, lunches, etc. Usually around that time I gain 5 or so lbs just from the fact that "OK, I'm getting free meals! I'm gonna eat the biggest, most delicious dinner they have".
This time was different.. Dinner plans included a steakhouse, mexican, italian, bbq place, anything you can think of that I DID NOT need to be eating so soon into my journey. But, I was so proud of myself. Yes, I ate pretty much what I wanted but I made smarter choices, and kept to my water, unsweet tea, etc. I even ate some cake..but two bites only. Much to my surprise I didn't gain a pound! I was so happy and proud of myself! I have never felt so self-motivated in my whole life.
ALSO, my mom took me shopping for new clothes. I went down a size in bras and even got to buy some in COLOR! Which I have never owned in my life. AND, I bought a pair of ZIP UP boots that go to my KNEES! I have never, ever been able to wear boots because my calves are about 90% muscle thanks to my mom and dad's genes and years of playing softball, soccer, volleyball, etc. But, I've lost about 2' from them with walking and such and was able to buy some this weekend. It was such a happy moment! I wore them over some skinny jeans (WHICH ALSO ARE TOO BIG NOW) and I felt like a million bucks!
Only 23lbs down, but I am more motivated than I've ever been in my life!
