what type of milkshakes like those at DQ or your local ice cream shop if so this could be harmful and almost make you gain weight. ice cream is full of sugar which turns into fats i would try make doing protein shake a day with yogurt and some fruit maybe to replace a meal for soemthing sweet and for the rest of the meals do healthy choices of salads and high energry low calorie foods0

Unless you are diabetic or have celiac disease, individual food choices are vastly secondary to just hitting your daily calorie and macronutrient intake.
In short, if you enjoy drinking your food then drink your food. If you'd prefer to actually eat your food, then eat it, but the bottom line is that you should be hitting your end-of-day targets for calories and macronutrients.0 -

Anything you do that puts you at a calorie deficit will work. But, learning how to eat real food would be more helpful for long term success.0 -

Consider that restricting yourself to shakes will likely increase your odds of falling off the wagon. Diets that eliminate food are generally not a good idea in my opinion.
I would urge you to learn about how calories work, and eat whole foods. Just eat slightly less than you need and exercise and good things will happen.0
