    or a brick house

I'm not one for math but I doubt there is an average measurment. Height, weight and body shape will all play a big role. 5'3 will probably not have the same size waist as somebody 5'10. Some people have wide hips, are busty or have no waist.

The problem with averages is that the average person doesn't have 5 fingers on one hand.

Makes no difference to me, as long as I am healthy.

    I don't measure my neck.

    Left arm: 11.25
    Bust: 35
    Waist: 28.75
    Hips: 39.5
    Thigh: 23.25

I'm about a size 8 in pants (6 if I squeeze), and small tops.

Im 5'8 and very into my retro clothes and 1940s stuff, so i am aiming for 38,28,38 which was the average for women in the 40s/50s
I would suggest the average for a woman these days is larger than that

I would say an average waist would be somewhere between 27-32" <-- thats not pant size that's above your belly button, not sucking in. You really have to take into consideration your body type, hip to waist ratio etc. I've read for a women above 35" you start getting into health risks and every inch above that goes up. Below 32" is below the health risk.

Thanks girl... I just measured for the first time today so I was just curious to see where I stood! Didn't go my thighs, arms, or bust - will do right now :)

I'm not sure that there is any such thing as an average, as each woman's proportioned totally differently.

My proportions are, as an example, DRASTICALLY different from even my own mother's. It wouldn't make any sense to compare out our bodies and we're as closely related as possible.

    Just a thought. :)

36 24 36 is a barbie doll! I'm sure there are some blessed women in that range but it isn't me!

    I'm
    bust 28
waist 25 (assuming at the navel)
    hips 32

    5'3"
    32
    23
    33.5

I cannot imagine being 36, 24, 36. I feel like I would look like Betty Boop! I wonder where those standards came from anyway. Most runway models have nowhere near a 36 bust or hip.

:-( When I am skinny and healthy I am 36/26/36. Sometimes I would get to 34/24/34 but that was rare. Its not really fun though - your boobs are too big, your butt is too big....and Im short in the torso which made it even worse. I looked like a doofus. I am 5'7.5". I wouldnt say there are measurements that are average for a woman as every one is built differently.

Also, most runway models are extremely thin to the point they are very unhealthy looking. A runway model is definitely NOT a source to go to for healthy looks.
