What Motivates you?

I was talking to a good friend at the gym this morning about my motivation. One of the greatest quotes ever is sometimes we need to remind ourselves on who and what are we doing this for. My motivations are listed below

My 3 year old nephew

My family:

Tired of being tired

Tired of paying extra for bigger sizes (because bigger clothes cost more)

My confidence in myself

My close friends

My 8:30 text messages and 9:00 am calls from my support group

I would love to actually be in a picture I like

Those are just some of the ones that come to mind right now. So I want to know what motivates you. What moves you? What makes you get up and push yourself past the pain and the I don't want to today?

Not sitting in a wheelchair feeling helpless and useless. Being able to go where I want on my own two feet ( even with a cane!) is hugely important when you haven't been able to do it for two years. If I regain weight, every pound I have to carry threatens my independence. And smaller clothes and the vast number of compliments are fun too :blushing: Good luck. Its a rough road but so very worth the time and effort.
  • Motivation doesn't stop when you reach your goal. So to keep me there I have run a few races and those medals and pictures of me crossing the finish lines are my motivation to stay and keep healthy.

I use myself to be motivated firts and for most, when I look in the mirror I am seeing a difference, when I put on my clothes, and they are big I see a difference, it's all the little things I notice that make a difference. It's hearing my friends and family telling me I'm looking good. My fiancee always called me pretty, but now he calls me sexy more. It's a feeling I have, a pride of accomplishment. i am going to keep pushing to hit my gols, and I have learned, no one including me can tell me I can not do this.
  • I want to always wake up tomorrow being a little bit better than today.

My motivations seem vain now that I have read this post.

I guess that I should come up with new ones, right?

My motivation is to be healthier and enjoy a prosper life. A life that is filled with accomplishments and no regrets.

Being fast when I compete at running, Not feeling like "the fat one" at running. Having a very strong and healthy heart, low RHR and low Blood pressure, being able to give blood, being able to actually comment on my boyfreind's incredibly unhealthy lifestyle.
