I went 99 calories over my limit today because I had a "fat" day ( getting back on track tomorrow!!) lol how many calories over your limit have you been? and did you still have a good week when it came to weight loss?

I have recently gone 1200 over!!! Crazy, I know! I did just fine, your body doesn't keep the extra calories if it doesn't need them. Your body adjusts to the smaller amount and the fact that your burning more and just gets rid of them! You'll be fine, and you'll have a great weigh in, as long as it's not a daily occurrence! :)
  • oh phew :D it wasn't too bad, it was just a wrap and a burger from mcdonalds, a glass of fizzy and a chocolate bar, the rest was fine lol, will have to make up for it tomorrow!

If I was 99 calories over I wouldn't stress. I go over by 100-200 a few times a week (without trying) and as long as I exercise it seems to even out. Do not stress over all the little ins and outs or you will go crazy.
  • previous times i have tried to lose weight without MFP, i'd have one fatty thing and then think "oh stuff it" and then binge, because I think that one thing was bad enough, so miswell not watch the rest of what I eat. I'm not too stressed about eating fatty foods every now and again, just scared of old habits I guess.

I went over by 300 this weekend (each day). I don't own a scale so I'll have to wait what the scale says. And 99 calories isn't that bad. Just make it up tomorrow and it should be fine.

But I'm having a hard time with the sweets! D=

yeah me too, after dinner is hard, because I like to end my night with a dessert, yoghurt is usually good :)
  • I was about 99 calories over today. I'm usually under. I don't think it will make too big of a difference.

if you are set to lose 1lb per week and go 99 over, then you are still 400 under your maintenance level.

You just have to find what works for you, but personally, a low-sugar diet with high protein works for me! Don't be scared of fat- fat free foods usually have lots of aded sugar.. read labels and make smart decisions!
  • 99 calories is nothing! i binged for one weekend on booze and fast food and lost weight somehow that following week! no worries!
  • I agree, it is a matter of setting yourself up with something you can stick to long term. As long as you are good like 90% of the time, that is great. You should have the odd blow out, as long as it is not too crazy, but even if it is just get back on the horse again. persistence will win out. I agree with the above comment also, I am finding keeping protein high and sugar low seems to work for me.

I don't tend to worry about being under or over by 50-100 cals or so. You are still going to have a calorie deficit anyway - and if you don't have a deficit one day - well that's not the end of the world.
It's more important to be changing to new good habits and find something that you can keep going with - and realising that one bad day doesn't end your weight loss journey is a real victory. Well done!

I am like 460 over today.... off to do some exercycling to combat it I think while I watch my favourite programme....but yep I think you need to have days where you just eat whatever - some people do it once a week 99 is nothing.... do 7 mins of jumping jacks or running on the spot and you will have burnt that!

Don't worry about 99 girlie  You could take a walk around the block and get that right off!

My worst day was about 3000 over, really horrible! I went back to see what I ate and looks like I had a milkshake, an entire box of my favorite biscuits and a fast food meal that day :ohwell: Luckily it's been many months since then and I haven't had the urge to repeat that performance!
