Tough time

We need chat for the tough times. Having a moment and I hope it only lasts a moment. I am about to go out into the garden and I know I should get a rather decent calorie burn with what I hope to do. But I could just devour everything in the kitchen, yet I'm not hungry. Having a cup of bush tea and 1 slice of cake. Hoping that satisfies me. I can't eat the calories I haven't yet burnt. 90% of the time I can be so in control but the other 10% can be so rough. Urghhhhh Ok holding in here waiting for support.

Its the knowing the amount of time to loose the weight after one of those feelings that helps me.

Before you eat anything ... try water .... sometimes that fills me up just enough

Oh,and hurry outside to do the gardening, I feel sure its about to rain.

(Good luck! ..... good thoughts coming your way)

I hate those times that it just seems like your jaw is the only thing that wants to exercise. Being out in the garden may help you. I know it helps for me to have a distraction. Perhaps try adding a bit of protein to make the cake more satiating? Sometimes the sugar can make the desire to munch stronger.

Anyway, I can totally relate...I'm just coming down off of TOM and wanting to eat the entire Ghiradelli factory, pizza shop, and anything else not nailed down.

  • If you eat, then don't work out or exercise, all the good work you've done the rest of the day is for zip. Keep to your plan, keep to your goals, keep to your log. Think of how disappointed you'll be if you pig -out on junk? your body will be upset with you soon. You'll be upset with yourself the next day.

Be strong, keep to your plans, get to your goal one day quicker. :)

Drink the tea (although I don't know what bush tea is, I assume that it has hardly any calories) and skip the cake. I often find that a cup of tea will tide me over when I am dying for something to munch.

Hang in there, I hope this gardening distraction works!
I have those days sometimes and I have decided that I'm going to keep trying not to give in and eat complete rubbish - but that if I do, it's not the end of the world, I WILL do better the next day.

Fingers crossed the tea and gardening works - I, too, vote to nix the cake and for some protein to get you through. We're cheering for you!!

I'm right there with you. Completely failed this weekend. The last three months, the weight was just flying off and I was barely working out. But once I started working out more regularly, suddenly the weight loss slowed and I'm starting to revert back to my old behaviours and splurge on extra calories because of my frustration which then just makes everything worse.
  • It is hard isn't it, I think we are all the same too, you always seem to want to go crazy and eat and eat. Just know you are not alone, and remember the food feels good for a lot shorter time than feeling healthy and being at a healthy weight does.

    Big hugs Jen,

I hope the gardening worked. Well done you for reaching out. Well done you for knowing it was about to happen and trying to stop it. Can you analyse the moment? Do you know why you felt the urge to eat when you weren't hungry? Hopefully you've gardened your way through it.

I just polished off the kids leftovers, not hungry at all, I think I'm just tired. Which has made me realise that I need to work on my early nights, if tiredness makes me overeat, then I'll eliminate tiredness!

Thank You all very much for your support. I spent 2 hours in the garden. Then came inside and cooked a healthy dinner, also thought I would go to Zumba class but realise how tired I am from gardening. Another tough time bites the dust. Whew! Couldn't have done it without you all.
