Logging weight training?

How do you log weight training? My trainer told me you burn more (and burn longer) calories when you add weigh training into yoir workout. But mfp doesn't count calories when you add in strength training. While I know calories are burned during cardio they are also burned by strength training. Why are these not counted?

I don't know how everyone does this, but I typically enter it as "circuit training" because I usually work in 2 mins on the treadmil between some of my sets. I think a lot of people do that. I'm not sure...just offering my solution :D.

As far as I understand it, MFP doesn't provide a calorie count for weight training because calories burned lifting weights varies really widely between people (much more than for cardio). So, if you're really concerned about the calories you burn in weight training, then you should probably get a heart rate monitor and see what it says.

Personally, I just log my cardio time (and list 30 Day Shred, which I'm doing now, as "circuit training") and eat most (say, 75-90%) of those calories back. I don't log my weight lifting time - but I also don't do a huge amount of weight lifting, either (not including the 30DS video, right now I'm doing maybe 15 min once or twice a week).

I log the weight training as "cardiovascular" there is an item: Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)

Maybe is not really accurate but, at least, you log it.
