20 Bars???? Wow, umm... I would suggest cutting down to only a few a day for a start. Don't try to get rid of it all, go with a few. Are you tanning? If you tan your skin could do that, but 20 bars of chocolate would make me hella big :(

I don't even know what to respond really, just cut it down. Choose something else to snack on when you need something, and only allow so many bars a day. Start slow I suppose? Break them in half and cut down on serving sizes?

OMG I have this problem too!! I thought i was the only one. I havent always been addicted to chocolate, it only started when a tuck shop was opened at work, it was so easy to grab a chocolate bar when i was bored or feeling peckish, then one day i forgot my lunch and didnt have time to go out and buy something so i got 4 chocolate bars to eat and thats when it started! I littelry have one after the other, someone did comment to me i was looking kind of brown but i think that was my fake tan? Last week i actually bought every single chocolate bar in the tuck shop, even the turkish delight ones which i hate, there was 38 chocolate bars, it took me all afternoon to eat them and cost me £17, I need help.

You definitely need to seek medical help with this - don't try and do it by yourself. There are plenty of people and services out there that can help you deal with your addiction.

I think you need to get this checked out. Normally no one could eat that much sugar. You need to have your blood sugar checked to rule out diabetes!

... And I thought I was addicted to chocolate. Okay, but seriously.. This is a food addiction, and there are people who can help. Any therapist will be able to give advice and maybe direct you to someone who is specifically educated in food addiction.

Do you like dark chocolate? You can incorporate that into your diet and try to keep within your calorie goals.

Oh, and I just wanted to say: if I HAD 25 chocolate bars, I'd eat them too, sweetie. <3 God I love chocolate. I hope you figure this all out though. Nothing wrong with chocolate every now and then.

Wow! That's a lot. If you can't cut down on your own, you should get help with that. Maybe start with your doctor and then get referred to a specialist on eating disorders? It's not to be taken lightly. Eating that amount of sugar alone could likely cause serious health problems. When I first quit smoking I used to eat 2 bars every day which helped me gain about 30 pounds in a couple months. I can imagine eating 10 times that would be pretty seriously bad. What's that in clories? About 6,000 or so?
Anyway, best of luck with that.

GOSH. 20 bars!!?? Okay um... have you tried dark chocolate? I find that it is richer and more flavourful, so just a little bit is satisfying. Also, you can try licking or sucking on bits of chocolate to make them last longer, instead of chewing.

    I really hope that helps.

Seek help from a professional... People struggle with addiction in many different forms and this sort of thing is definitely more common than people like to believe, and the people on this site are the last people who should judge someone who has a food addiction.. Have you tried buying chocolate from the health food section of your grocer? They usually have normal and dark chocolate that has no sugar, low carb and is sweetened with natural sweeteners like stevia. Good luck x

Being the ChocolateFairey I don't think my advice is going to be much use, Lol!

On a serious note, I agree with the others and think you need to get some medical advice or maybe get hypnotised for this addiction! I hope you get cured of your addiction and good luck :)

Can you get chocolate chips and sort them in to small servings in snack bags then limit yourself to x amt of bags a day? That's the only thing I can think of. I'm sorry.

I used to be like that. Try drinking a glass of water every time you feel like picking up a candy bar. That works for me!

    20 bars! Sounds $expensive$ too....

I LOVE chocolate but I think 20 full bars would make me sick to my stomach. My mom (who is overweight but not really obese) started craving chocolate and was eating 5-10 bars a day. She used to keep the veggie drawer in the fridge stocked with chocolate bars. Then after about a year she got diagnosed with diabetes. Now, no more chocolate bars for her upon penalty of potential death. Even though, she still craves it like mad. I beleive chocolate can truly can be an addiction and it's serious stuff.

Hershey's chocolate bar - 210 calories and 13 grams of fat
    20 bars = 4,200 calories. 260 grams of fat

I would invest in some chocolate flavored hard candies to keep the chocolate flavor without all the fat and reduced calories. Then, step down this addiction just like a smoker would.

This is why they need to make chocolate flavored gum, for chocolate addicts. Maybe a chocolate "patch". I'm not trying to be funny either. Chocolate addictions are real I think!

Chocolate is an addiction, just like everything else. Don't sweat it and ignore the somewhat-rude comments.

First, congrats with confessing the major love of chocolate! I think that's brave of you!

If you have that much sugar in a day and suddenly cut it out your body WILL go into withdrawl. I would cut down to 4 (morning, afternoon, after supper and evening) and space it out evenly n the hours of the day. Do that for 3 weeks and STICK TO IT. Then slowly cut one into half and have an apple with it. Do that for a week. And repeat until you are eating them at the same time but only 1/2 a bar and a piece of fruit.

Once you get there, it's up to you how much farther you want to go. But you're weight and your pancreas will thank you - and you'll feel much better.

Send me a message anytime - I'll help you through! Good luck to you!
