Yep, got that song in my head! And that is how I'm feeling.
Seriously though, I need help.
Along with this whole weight loss/healthy eating/ get fit thing that I'm doing, I decided to quit smoking. It's a BIG decision for me. I know all of the reasons, I've seen the pictures, etc.
My problem is the cravings. I don't take medicine and won't. I've had too many adverse reactions to medication that this is a cold turkey quit smoking deal.
I went to Walmart and got a HUGE bag of candy to help me through this. But do you know how many calories are in that?!
Someone please walk me through this. Hold my hand. Slap me upside the back of my head. Something. Please!!!

Congrats on making a great decision for your health!
When I quit smoking, I gave myself a week to use snacks as a crutch. After that, I was right back to eating (mostly) healthy and exercising.
Livestrong has a great app (I've got it on my iPhone) called MyQuit Coach. Look into it if you've got a smart phone!0 -

I quit smoking cold turkey as well and found somthing to work quite well. A doctor actually recommended it to me and I was very surprised with the results.
Get a large pink grapefruit and seperate the pieces, take them with you wherever you go and when you have a craving eat one piece but do not swallow the entire piece. Instead take your time and chew on the white skin, this bitter taste will curb your cravings for a smoke and give your mouth something to do.
I was not a big fan of grapefruit but it worked wonders for me... Took almost 2 months for the cravings to completely go away, just have to stick with it!0 -

Tell yourself this every single day when you get up. Look yourself in the mirror and repeat this until you believe it. I quit almost 13 months ago now and couldn't be happier. I would be lying if I didn't say they still sound good every once in a while. I have had a puff here and there when i'm out with friends (maybe a total of 2 ciggs total).
You can do this, people do it every single day. I think that losing weight is harder than quitting smoking!0 -

What a great decision you've made!
I quit in April of 2010. I knew I was seriously done smoking when we went out to a club with some friends (after I had quit smoking for a few months), I had had a few beers and I asked my fiance for a cigarette. Apprehensively he gave me his lit one, I took one puff and just about threw up.
Quitting was pretty easy for me though, I don't know why. I did gain a little weight but nothing serious.

maybe chew on cinnamon sticks? I know it sound weird but you mouth and hands will be busy with minimal calories.0

Carrots and celery.
When I quit I cut a straw down to the size of a cigarette and "smoked" it when ever I felt the urge. It actually helped quite a bit because I was going through the motions, inhaling and exhaling the air as if it were smoke.
Changing your activity can help too. When you get the urge go for a walk or something just change what your doing and that will help you refocus on something other than a cigarette.

I quit cold turkey. I ate sunflower seeds for 3 weeks to help with the cravings. After that the cravings were greatly reduced and more manageable. Good luck!0
