Where should chocolate be kept?
In the Fridge
or
In the Cupboard?
Doesn't matter if you dont eat it anymore, you still have a favourite as to where it should be kept!

I like when it melts...when it's cold it takes too long to do that! hahah.0 -
I like mint chocolate in the freezer and my coffee bean chocolate room temperature.0
-
Definately in the cupboard, never tastes the same in the fridge0

I prefer my chocolat at room temp because it gets hard and crumbly when it's cold0

In the cubboard. I like it soft. I have a huge bar of Hershey Chocolate with almonds just waiting for me to eat it. It's been there for about a month. Haven't done the deed yet.0

In a cool place, not a cold place (I.e. not in the refrigerator or freezer). The problem with refrigerating or freezing chocolate is that the dry air in both locations will suck the moisture right out of the chocolate. The oils and such in chocolate are what give it that smooth rich texture, and as they dry out they harden which affects consistency, texture and taste. Chocolate should be kept in a cool dark pantry until it's to be used.0

Filled chocolate bars on the counter (well above the fridge in the "treat bin" in my house - less tempting that way! haha), and solid milk chocolate in the fridge so it lasts longer when melting!0

That's what dipping it in your tea is for!
Plus, it's harder to peel the layers off if it's not chilled!
I can't be the only one who eats my kitkats layer by layer!0 -
i love melty chocolate! yummm- so def in the cupboard for me!0

I've always liked mine in the freezer.0

Cupboard. It has a very long shelf life! I buy large quantities when I go to a Trader Joes (the nearest is 3 hours away) to bake with. (Cakes, chocolate mousse and souffles, cookies, brownies, hot cocoa etc.) I buy dark Belgian chocolate however. I can't say for the lighter varieties but I imagine it would be the same.
If you were to put it in the refridge/freezer you'd have to be sure it wouldn't be exposed to moisture which would destroy it!
(Let's not forget the health properties of dark chocolate either!!!)0 -
Chocolate at room temperature but Milky Ways HAVE to be straight from the freezer. They taste so much better frozen x0

Yes, lets FORGET about health properties for the purpose of this thread! This thread is purely about which you prefer for that other forgotten nutrient....TASTE!0 -
In my stomach. Long term storage is on my thighs.
Seriously, where to store chocolate has never been a problem.0 -

This isn't a "help me! where do i store it?!" Thread! It's just to gauge opinions of what people personally prefer!0 -
