Tying my shoes NSV

One of the signs I had gotten that I was putting on weight was whenever I tried to put on my shoes, I had to prop my foot up against something (if standing put it on a chair or the side of the bed, if sitting, bring up to the top of whatever I was sitting on or bend over to the floor). Additionally, i could feel that it was restrictive on my breathing when I would be doing this.

So today in the locker room getting ready for my workout, without even thinking about it, I sat down on the bench picked my right foot up and held it in mid air in front of me while I tied the laces. No struggles, no trouble breathing, just felt as natural as it could ever feel. It wasn't until I put my foot down on the floor that I realized what I had just done.

So a little silly but a great sign that the gut is gone!!

That is a big deal! Congratulations!
  • Grats! It's funny, about all the "little" things I found out I could do after the weight came off...

I always felt a little amazed (and proud), as I began doing them again.

I try never to take any of them for granted any more.

Thats awesome! No NSV is silly. I remember a couple years ago when i lost a bunch of weight i was sitting on a bench talking to a buddy of mine and was tying my shoe and eventually noticed that my face was about 1/2 an inch from my knee... and thats something that could never happen before... so i ended up resting my chin on my knee and inside felt such a rush of accomplishment! And then i put on 80lbs and couldnt do it agian :(
  • Not silly at all! Congrats, what a great NSV!

This, exactly. Enjoy your NSV, OP! :)
