I think I'm going to go buy a new scale. I'm sick of mine giving me 17 different numbers all the time.

Digital or not digital? (I can't think of what the other kind is called hah)

I like digital better because you don't have to keep re-balancing it. I got a pretty cheap one and it seems fine.

I JUST bought the one I have in June and put a new battery in it this morning. It's beyond annoying that it's so ****ty. It might be that the floor is uneven. This building is like 1000 years old ha
  • I have both. I recommend digital.
  • Digital or analog? :) I use a digital and put one of my hand weights (10 lbs) to check the accuracy and move it accordingly. Sometimes the tilt of the floor or whatever makes it go off -- but my digital is rarely off by more than 0.4 pounds.

    Good luck! :)

Digital. They are definitely more accurate.

I like my Wii Fit balance board. It's almost exactly the same as the digital scale at my doctor's office.

We have a digital scale at work and it seems to be really accurate. It shows to the tenth of a pound. If I get on a few times in a row it will show the exact same weight each time.

Being an "old fart" I vote for an analog/mechanical scale.

Mine is older than dirt but gives me consistent readings. Not so good for any accuracy below +/- 0.5 lbs. But hey, what is a half pound between friends! :-)

I have a digital weight tracker scale that uses "4 load cell" technology. Basically it has a pressure sensor each corner so it's more accurate even on uneven floors. It's pretty similar to how the wii balance board works. It's the best scale I've ever owned! I would look for something similar to that.

I divorced my old 2001 scale because of this. Last weekend, after running five exhausting miles, I hopped on the scale....110 pounds, what the hell? Shocked because I knew for a fact I was at least 50 pounds heavier. I checked my weight on Saturday.... 238 pounds. I ran to Walmart after work and picked up a digital scale, and I was 165... still fat, but accurate.

    Digital wins!

What model did you get? I have a HealthOMeter from Walmart and it ain't cutting the mustard
  • I use something called EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale. I can personally vouch that it gives me the same answer if i step on it 10 times in a row. I did test it. I really like it. It shows your weight in 0.2lb increments and lights up the moment you step on it. No tapping at all. I've used it for over a year. Idk how often you're supposed to change batteries but I've never changed mine and I use it almost everyday.

Yes definitely digital :) good luck with your search for your new scale!

I have a EatSmart Digital... it rocks. I'm glad I ditched my last one.
