I usually stay on a 1200 calorie /day diet religiously during the week. I exercise along with this which makes me able to actually eat more than a 1200 cal diet. But on the weekend I usually eat a bit more averaging well over 1200 calories. I find myself during the week eating under 1200 calories some days which I know your not supposed to do. okay finally my question is if I eat more calories during the weekend, will it really matter what i eat during the week? WOnt it balance out?

I eat my exercise calories, but I do it like you. I net below 1200 most week days so that I can have a cheat day on the weekends. It's worked for me.

Should be OK, provided your string of 'under' days isn't too long

I believe it should balance out, within reason, say 900+ on your low days. Watch out though, because undereating can trigger binges that cause fat gain.

its worked for me too! I still end up losing at least a pound a week. It gives me something to look forward to thus helping me to stay motivated on this yet another diet im on. Thanks!

Sounds similar to the Spike diet. I do the same thing in maintenance now. It is working for me.

It sounds like you'd be losing double the weight if you didn't eat your exercise calories.I'm sure I have more to lose, but I lose 2-3lbs every week. I try to stay around my 1200 a day calories and I don't eat what I burn off during exercise. I keep my carbs at about 120g per day. I dont eat more than two starches a day. I keep my meals at or below 500 calories each so its burned off in digestion and my snacks are around 100-200 calories each. We all have to find what works for us though. I just find it easier on me and my body to eat right all the time instead of starving during the week to make up for over eating on the weekend. I give myself a cheat day 1-2 times a month IF I earn it by meeting mini goals.
