Ok guys this is me at my smallest that i can remember i was about 17 a senior in high school and i was a varsity cheerleader so i worked out everyday for two hours sometimes it was anywhere up to 5 hrs a day (when we had morning and afternoon practice) and weighed around 170 but i had horrible eating habits. i dont think ive never really been small except when i was a child i was skin and bones. Frankly i dont think i look like i weight 170 in this picture looks like i weigh less but who knows it might just be the angle. So i wanted some help trying to determine what my goal weight should be im not really sure although i know that if i was a size 5 or smaller i would probably be too small and that at my smallest in high school i still felt fat. can you guys help me out? oh by the way im 5'7 and currently weigh 217 Also im horrible at making short term goals if u guys could suggest some short term weight loss goals that would be great i tend to want to lose alot in a little time and then ger disappointed and get off track

Stick to the goals they gave you when you joined and take your time. When you get to a point where you like what you see then maintain. :flowerforyou: Welcome and good luck.0

I'm 5'7 and small framed. I literally just got back from my dr appointment for my yearly physical and weighed 142. My doctor suggested 130 would be a good weight for my height and frame size.0

supposedly you should be about 143. Your recommended weight range for your height is 127 to 159 (will also depend on your body frame) That's according to various sites that say what you're supposed to be based on your height. Good Luck!0

To keep the numbers from being overwhelming set goals in 20 pound incriments. I do better with that method than thinking 'OMG I have to lose HOW much weight?"
For me my first goal is actually 25 pounds to get down to my most recent low weight. Once I reach that I would like to continue on to get to 150. That would still be overweight for my height, but it would probably be the thinnest I have ever been since I was in middle school.0 -
You look quite fit in the photos (you may have felt fat, but you were NOT). You also look like your frame is medium to large. Remember that muscle is much denser than fat, so you may have weighed 170, but looked like you weighed 145 - 150. Also remember that in high school you probably had not reached your full size. Many women continue to grow past 18 (not as much as men, I grew another inch between 18 and 25). I'm 5'1" (thank god for that inch :-), weigh 160, and am large framed. No one believes me when I tell them what I weigh. My goal is a very fit 140 and I'm taking into account my frame, fitness level, and the fact that I am 48. figure out your frame size, your fitness level, etc and then go from there. I suspect if you were fit and weighed 150 you would look really great. Also with the goals, why not just work towards getting back to the fit 170 and see how you feel. No need to rush it, plan on 4-5 pounds per MONTH. I suggest the idea of per MONTH because at the rate of 1 lb per week, there will be some fluctuation. The monthly goal will be the true loss. You still want to weight about once a week, but don't get too discouraged by less than a half pound loss. Once you get to the 170, you can decide if youneed to lose more.0

If you weigh 217 now, why not set a mini-goal at 200? Nice round number, and you can reach it in a reasonable amount of time.0

I just started my weight loss journey again, but this time I really believe I can do it. The thing that changed is that I made a commitment to be happy today. You are a beautiful woman. Don't beat yourself up about your weight. I'm 5'4" and my weight goal is 130, but this can change later. My short term is 180. I agree with Alhoward8 to try to make your short terms like 20lbs. I am going to reward myself when I get to my 180 goal by getting new clothes.
I started at 208. In just a month, I lost 12lbs. At my heaviest I was 220. I am currently in a competition with my little sister. We want to be in bikini's for her 21st birthday in Vegas next year. That thought motivates me to take action. Also, we have a rule that you have to wear a bikini no matter what and pay the winner $1,000. I strongly suggest finding a partner that can push you. Little changes that you make are a victory, like cutting soda or taking the stairs. I'm a visual person, so I put pictures of women in bikini's on my wall. Also, I visualize myself in a bikini. It helps keep me motivated.0 -
You could set your goal to 170, then when you get there, set a new goal based on how you look/ feel.
Or, looking at that picture, you could probably go down to 150 and look great.0
