I got a huge box from Costco and now I see the fat content in one of these bad boys is twice my daily allowance! Is my allowance too small or are these just a total no-go item for weight loss?

hmm, i dont know because i eat luna bars for breakfast (same company i think) and i dont go over on my fat - but that's just a suggest for you if you like the bars...luna bars are so satisfying - but of course, moderation, blah blah blah :) compare them next time you go shopping.

    "44" - I assume that's grams?
  • Your daily allowance must be crazy low. Fat is good! You need fat!!

Take your body weight and multiply it by 0.3 That is a good minimum for amount of fat you NEED.

If you're exercising you're allowed more. Although it sounds like the #s are off. I eat them and I never had one that high. based on what you're saying, each bar has 88g of fat?

There is no way clif bars have that much haha. I think the entry you picked was entered wrong. I suggest finding another entry instead of the one you just used. Look on the back of the packaging of each bar, they're only around 6-9g of fat for the whole thing!

OMG you're right..thank you! I felt crazy because normally I would have put it back on the shelf if I saw 53g fat. I was just going by what MFP said when I added it to my day. I will see about correcting that info. Thanks all!!
  • I LOVE Cliff Bars but I do hate how they have 23 grams of sugar and MFP says only to have 26...... Needless to say I go over on sugar pretty often.

I think you are miss reading something. Clif Bars only have 6 or 7 grams of fat in them.

Are you looking at the fat per 100g by any chance on the bar wrapper?

I think my biggest error was looking for "Cliff" bars instead of "Clif" bars. I looked at the entries with the correct spelling and they all seem to have the nutrition info logged correctly.

Yeah...sugar, but they are also quite natural without loads of chemicals and crap.
