Exercise At Home

Hey All!
I'm a solo mummy of a 3 year old boy. I don't have alot of time to get out of the house and exercise, because by the time i get home from work it is time for him to go to bed (so i can't even take the pram with me for a quick jog) and the little time we do have before bedtime, i want to spend with him, not out exercising. So exercise really needs to be done once he's in bed!
I do exercise during my breaks at work, but i just feel as though it isnt enough. Does anyone have any ideas of exercises i can do at home?
I find it hard to get motivated, im sick of the whole sit ups, squats etc, i just don't stick to it!! So i'm wanting fun and exciting mini workouts that i actually WANT to do!
Any ideas would be an awesome help!!
Thankyou!

Hi, I also have a three year old boy and work but I have fortunate to have my husband help. However, there is still lots to do in the evenings so I get up at 4:00am and workout prior to leaving for work. I use Beachbody workout programs, I have 7 of them so this keeps me from getting bored. I also run twice a week on my lunch breaks.

I'm sure you've thought of it but DVDs are an obvious one... you can pick them up cheap at charity shops and get loads of different ones so your routine never gets boring...0

How about an exercise DVD? Once your child goes to bed maybe do 45 minutes of Leslie Sansone? She has many terrific walking programs and I swear by her. I used to use a treadmill but have had much better results doing low impact aerobics with Leslie. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you. :flowerforyou:0

Hi! I hear you! I have an 8 month old. I do my workouts in the morning before she wakes up, or during her first nap (I stay home). I do beachbody workout programs, so they are all on DVD's and I can go at my own pace, pause, etc...There are many different ones, depending on what your goals are, how much time you want to spend, etc. There are even 10-min trainer workouts. Let me know if you are interested in learning more, I can email you the link to go in and view them all, etc to learn more.0

Exercise DVDs by people like Jillian Michaels.
Try searching on youtube for exercises, pilates, zumba, P90X etc and you'll get some great ideas.
Good luck with your weight-loss journey0 -

I have used Leslie Sansone Walk at home, love it, you can find 15 min vid's on youtube. Also I recommend Zumba video's.0 -
Diana, how did you add that Insanity tag to your post? And how do you log your workouts in here? I have been doing the programs for a while, but just joined this site to track things. Thanks! Michelle0

I found the Insanity Logo on line and created a jpeg from it. Once I had the file you can load it into your signature by selecting the "custom" design.
I use a HRM to track my calories burned so when I started Insanity I created my own workouts for each one. It's easy to do, just go into Exercises then to "My Excercises" you can then create your own there.
Hope that helps.
If you want you can friend me and I can send the jpeg for Insanity, I think I still have it somewhere!
