I've been on MFP for about a month, and the thing I keep coming back to is this: Where are the experts? Every thread I read is full of MFPers helping each other, trying to figure out why they plateau, why the cramps when I run, why I go over my protein numbers every day.

Is there a way for us to find the real answers? I love the support we pull from each other, but how do we actually figure out the answers to our questions?

 I am so thankful for this website, and a great resource that fits my lifestyle. I wouldn't give that up.

Any suggestions?

Those on MFP who have lost and maintain are experts in my opinion. The cost of this program fits my budget. It works for me. If your looking for experts then ask.com might work better for you or perhaps weight watchers?

I think the issue is that even the experts don't agree on quite a few of these questions. I could post links on all of the questions that you list that provide opposite advice. It's really frustrating, but the one thing MOST experts agree on is that you must control your calorie intake and this site provides an excellent tool to do that.

Sorry I can't be more help. My personal opinion is that calories in vs out matters for everyone and everything else depends on the person and what works for them mentally and physically.

Read the stickies. They are labeled horribly but there's good info there.
  • MFP is absolutely working for me - I've never been so happy with results. I love looking at the message boards, I just wondered about different opinions among MFPers. I just want us to all be on the same page. :)
