hi, i was wondering if i could get some help regarding binging...
i'm trying really hard to get myself together... it seems like i'm be doing awesome... working out and eating well... then boom.. something happens that i can seem to handle and i go straight for the 5000 calorie binge... like a whole large pizza binge where i actually use food to numb myself to prevent the bad stuff from happening/ to not confront my emotions.... i am trying to change all of this stuff but i just can't seem to do this... help

The only way to stop me from binging was to get rid of everything. I eat clean for the most part now. No cravings and no binges0

I used to binge eat to numb out. I would have complete blackouts (like alcohol blackouts) after a binge. It was something that slowly over time I was able to change. I can't offer a quick fix because it wasn't like that for me. I started recognizing the urges and trying to replace the behavior with a healthier one. Sounds generic but it's what I did. And I'm not going to lie, it was HARD at first. I did a lot of screaming and crying over trivial things.
Perhaps seeing a therapist is what you need? I'm a big advocate for mental health. Without stable mental health I have nothing. It affects every part of my life but I will tell you that I have made so many more bigger and better changes since then and my life is much better now. So it is possible you just have to search inside yourself to know how to tackle this thing.
My heart goes out to you. If you want more support add me. I'll be behind you 100%0 -
I think about the guilt and shame and lethargy that follows the binge. I hate those feelings.0

Since you don't have much weight to lose you probably are not bingeing as much as you think. When you binge, enter the food in your diary to get an idea of how bad. As for the emotional stuff, My daughter and soon to be ex-son-in-law have worried me almost to death the last 15 years. Right when I started this site, they heated up again and I had that feeling of needing a bag of chocolate candy. Something amazing happened. I ask myself if I was going to let them ruin this for me and the answer was no. I tuned them out, stayed on track and have finally convinced myself to look after me. Good Luck0
