I have been beyond frustrated with trying to get cute jeans that aren't 4 inches too long. Even petites drag the ground unless I wear a heel. I have a 30 inch inseam so I'm not super pettite. Yesterday I spotted a rack of super cute jeans and started browsing. I realized I was looking at girl's jeans and the 16's looked like they'd fit me. I'm a 6/8 in women's depending on the brand. I tried on a few 16's and a 14 1/2. They were the perfect length! And they fit. Some of the styles are obviously for little girls but others look like regular jeans. And they're way cheaper.

Thanks for the suggestion! I heard a stylist recommend a petite woman look in the juniors for certain things due to the sizing! Just beware that some styles just aren't right for us "mature" folks!!!LOL:laugh: I have been tempted to buy girls size ski fleeces, etc because they are significantly less expensive!!!:noway: I think that petite clothing should be discounted!!!! It uses less material, after all!

Yeah some of the styles are definitely not something an adult could wear. Juniors are really too long for me and they aren't made for a woman's figure. No hip room. That's where the girl's jeans surprised me. They are roomier than junior sizes.
  • Ahhhh...thanks for the tip- I will try this!:flowerforyou:

Great advice...I'm not quite that size...yet, but when I get there, I'll have to remember it. I'm currently in a size 8 or 10 jeans, but determined to get into a 6...not bad from size 18 just a few short years ago.

Wow! Finally someone else that needs to do the same thing!! I am 39 yrs old with a 26" inseam and have the worst time finding jeans and workout pants. Even petites are not short enough. I used to shop at LImitied Too or Old Navy or Gap for the lil girl sizes, but you sometimes have a hard time finding jeans without butterfly or cutesy appliques on them. Whenever, I find ones that do fit and are suitable for my age, I buy 2!!! haha It goes without saying that I love spring and summer when I can wear shorts and capris.....

Actually, they are coming out with some jeans in Juniors sizes that are made to have hip room. My sister just bought a couple pairs - and she's got hips! But they look great!

You could also get them altered. There are shops that do that - and a lot of dry cleaners will do alterations for a minimal fee - $5 - $10 or so. If it's just hemming or something simple.
