So I'm just sitting here, pretending to work, perusing the MFP forums, munching on my mid-afternoon snack #1 of 1 serving of baby carrots and 1 serving of sugar snap peas (raw, delicious!) and thinking, "Man! the old me would have given me a backhand to the face if he saw me doing this!" I just find it kind of amusing.

Sometimes it's good to stop and take a look back at all the healthy changes you have made, it kind of makes it all worth while!

I had this kind of moment this weekend. I went to Houston to visit a friend and we made a shopping trip to the Organic/Specialty foods market.

The old me would not have found the fun in that...the new me was like a kid in a candy store.

(we don't get many healthy options in my town :grumble: )

Those snap peas are the best! I am thinking that they would be even better dipped in something...any suggestions? Healthy dip of course, maybe a marinade in some sort of vinegar? Or maybe bbq sauce? Just kidding  :noway:

Have you tried 'em with BBQ sauce? I dunno,,, might be good. BBQ sauce is pretty light, just a li'l sugar.

I have a secret site where I'm getting all these awesome pics from... Did you see the ones I put on the bacon thread? lol...

Sorry Banks, Beans and I have a habit of getting off topic...

By the way, Beans, how's the cake planning coming for your little one's b-day? lol

 Who?! US?! NEVER! The cake is being practiced & I'm getting annoyed with it. I'll PM you later. I might need some suggestions. :grumble:

ANYWAYS...I didn't see the bacon thread at all! I need to go search.

    Still, hummus....*drool*

    I notice tons of changes.

    - A year ago, I always went for the biggest piece. (Say, cookies) Now, I try to snag the smallest.

    - A year ago, I would have drowned my sorrows in a a venti white chocolate mocha. Now, I read a book. At the most I'll make myself a cup of 25-calorie cocoa.

    - A year ago, a bunch of friends going to a diner would have made me say "screw the diet!" and eat whatever I wanted. Now, I always make healthy (or healthIER) choices. It's ingrained.

    - "You'll regret that in 10 minutes" has far more influence over my choices.

    - Now, hearing that a good restaurant is a 15-minute hilly walk makes me excited.

    - I squeal in happiness whenever I stumble upon small natural food stores.
