Hi, I don't know the answer to your question but this is what I do. I enter my food before I eat it to see what the calories, etc are on MFP. If it is more than I thought, I delete it (red button on end of food listed) and try something else. Just put this in your food diary and see how it works out for MFP guidelines on calories, fat, carbs and protein. Good Luck

This is exactly what I do, outline my day, exercise and add or remove as I go. That way there won't be a surprise at the end of the day and I can see if I can have that Fiber One Brownie, Sugar Free Jello or nothing at the end of the day.

Seems alright. Is this recommended by someone?
If you like, take a look at my blog. It has a lot of similar foods plus some others you may want to add to it. Variety will help you stay on track. (it was given to me by a sports nutritionist)
And I would agree that pre-posting your foods on your diary will give you a good idea of what will work.
Don't forget to add those exercise calories

    Hi there,

That sounds a lot like a really severe diet, not a lifestyle change. How about actual food instead of supplements and shakes? How about more variety? It's *very* hard to stick to a restricted diet with the same things for lunch and dinner every day for months on end. Lean protein could also include fish, other seafood and eggs (fish is very good for you). Calcium is really important for woman too. And Iron - so what about some lean red meat and low fat dairy?

It is quite possible to lose fat while eating normal foods and is much more sustainable (and cheaper!). I guess you should take about three months to lose 13 kilos so think about what you can keep up for that time then keep up for the rest of your life (with a bit more leeway) as maintainance.

Crash dieting is very bad for your body and you don't want to mess yourself up while you're so young. Read the permenant posts about eating your calories and eating exercise calories.

    Good luck on your journey!

I forgot to mention that I am actually going to alternate what i eat per week. So one week would be chicken, next would be turkey, and the next would be fish to keep my body guessing with different foods. I believe I can keep this up. Im not sure what I could have for a snack in replace of the protein shake? more fruit? cottage cheese is also a popular thing that I've seen people eat a lot of. I'm trying to cut at the moment, so I'm not having many carbs, but once I get to the weight I want, I'm going to add in some more eggs and some whole wheat toast and pita bread.

I don't see the need for all the shakes, why not have a high protein snack instead, hard-boiled eggs, sliced chicken or turkey, nutbutter? I would rather eat my calories than drink them. Every now and then I like a smoothie and will add in some protein powder but I don't use it often.

Are you sure you won't get bored eating that blandly? I have lost over 30 lbs and eat fairly normally. I control portion sizes and use lower calorie alternatives if I can.

You will lose weight but it is so boring. I just eat a bunch of different regular foods and enjoy life while i lose weight.
