The preset levels for protein on here are quite low, eat up and enjoy!
You can manually change the carb/protein/fat ratio to better suit your needs and goals... my home>goals>change>custom0 -
Thanks for you reply.
Will it affect any weight loss though? I hate to think I have blown it already!0 -
Don't worry, it also took me some time to find out what I can to stay within the limits. And somedays I still don't make it!
Good luck for your journey!0 -
Thats great, I try to go over all the time with intention0

I always go over my protein, if you are working out you need more protein than they suggest on here anyway to build and maintain more muscle0
-
If anything it will help with your weight loss since protein makes you feel full longer:)0

don't worry about it. protein is one you can pretty much always go over on and not worry about. Besides, most articles I've read state that overall calories are more important than macros (fat, carb, protein, etc).
Welcome and good luck!0 -
Thank you for your replies! It's great that there are so many people to help!
What should my ratios be ie protein, carbs and fat?
I am 5'6", 140llbs and trying to lose a stone on 30DS and healthy eating0 -
I am very often over on my protein, which I don't mind. It hasn't hindered my weightloss at all. I would be more concerned about going over on carbs.
Try to incorporate more veggies into your salad and maybe only using half a packet of prawns in future? A good way to ensure you are eating enough vegetables is to track your fibre as well.
I have sent you a friend request.0 -
It's okay to get too much! If it's important to you to follow the guide, why not try to follow the guide with your averages across a week? Every day we have fluxuations. Today you ate a lot of protein, maybe tomorrow it will be fiber, over the week things often balance out. If you stay close to your alotted calories, you should be fine. If you find eatting a lot of protein makes it so that you're over your caloric amount, that might be an area you want to cut back on
Are you planning on exercising today? When you add exercise each of your major nutrients increase (more calories, more protein...
Good luck!0 -
I agree with what everyone else is saying--going over on the protein is ok--I try to make sure I don't go over the fats & carbs--not worried about the proteins as long as I'm still staying under my calorie goal. Good luck!!

It is better to go over on protein (in my opinion) than with carbs and fats. The ratio they have here is really skewed so take it with a grain of salt ... You can actually go in and change the ratios yourself once you read up a little on the percentages you should be maintaining ... I actually opt for about 45/35/20 but that is based on the types of activity I do and how my body seems to best respond. If you are just getting started, I would worry more about making sure you stay within your calorie goal and slowly work your way toward worrying about the macros ... One step at a time. If you get too deep in the weeds too fast you may start to feel overwhelmed and that is not the goal here.
Good luck! and enjoy lunch!0 -
I intentionally go over on protein every single day (I was over by more than 100 grams yesterday), and have lost almost 45 pounds since June. Don't worry!0

So much good advice here! I love this forum.
I did 30DS this morning (only just started breathing again properly!!)
I will see where the average is for protein/carbs and fat at the end of the week and go from there. I know it is early days but I do feel a bit clueless!0 -
diswiddlepiggy that is AMAZING!! Well done!!0

Don't worry, better protein than carbs. And if you eat soooo much protein that your body can't process it anymore, it will just turn into carbs anyway. But you would need A LOT of protein for that.0

Don't worry too much about the fluctuations. They are normal. Just try to stay at your overall daily goal, and incorporate healthy foods into your day.
I wouldn't adjust your Protein-Carbs-Fat unless you talk to a nutiritionist. Otherwise, just realise that they may be off some days, but in the long run it won't matter.
Try to eat at least 1 piece of fruit and 1 veggie a day, and then everything in moderation.
You can do this! And I love the 30DS!!!0
