NSV on a horrible, terrible, really awful, rotten day

Yesterday sucked. Sorry, it just did. Nothing went right at work, then I had to take off early to pick up my son and take him to a Boy Scout event...got majorly lost trying to find the place...by the time I got home, I was on the verge of a panic attack. Truly...anxiety, shallow breathing, sweaty palms, the whole nine yards.
Normally this would prompt a trip through the McDonalds Drive Thru for a 2000 calorie "snack". Yesterday that thought didn't appeal to me at all. Instead, I went home, put on my tennies, and RAN on the treadmill. I'm just starting my exercise program, so I am currently WALKING 3.0 mph for 15 minutes a day, with the intention of working up to something longer. But I WANTED to RUN. So I ran 6.0 mph. OK, before y'all get too excited, I only lasted one minute. But, it was a HARD minute, and when I was done, I actually felt better (once I could breathe normally again!).
So, that's how I turned a horrible, terrible, really awful, rotten day into something I could be proud of. YAY!

Thats great! And good for you for resisting the drive thru!! thats normally my reaction to a bad day ... although my weakness is tortilla chips & salsa lol ... but thats huge progress! Keep up the good work!0

Awesome job! Sometimes you work out a lot harder when you're stressed or angry and just take your frustrations out on the exercise machine0

Congrats!
I do the same thing. If I have an extra crappy day I either get on my treadmill or I go outside and I run until I almost throw up. Sounds extreme yes, but it totally works and once I know I will keep my insides on the inside, I feel AMAZING!!!0 -
Great job! That's a great way to turn a bad day into a positive day! Awesome job! You should be proud of yourself!0

Every little bit of success counts, and I count two successes there. First one saying "no" to McDonalds, and the second one going a minute at 6 mph. Great job!0

Good for you girl!! Have you ever looked into the Couch to 5 K program?? I am in week four at it is absolutely amazing!! It allows you to run more and walk less each time building up to 5K after 10 - 12 weeks. The best part is you start off only running for one minute at a time. You have already proved you can do that!!!! I am telling you, it will change your life.....
Good Luck on the rest of your journey, and feel free to add me if you want more friends:flowerforyou:
Cheers,

Good for you! I suggest the C 2 5k program, I started out walking (slowly and not very far) and now I run (not jog, run) 35-40 miles a week.
You can do it and you will feel better!0 -

Congrats! :drinker: What a great and positive attitude to have. Your story totally inspired me!
I was feeling really down today and just wanted to EAT some junk, but I decided that I was better than that! Instead I called a friend. Much healthier way to deal with negative emotions and stress! Thank you!0 -
Excellent way to beat out the stress! Exercise and exercise hard! Good for you! (great for you!)0

This is perfect.
Think like this:
That 1 minute run saved you 2000 calories! Others run for that a marathon!0 -
