Help Identify This Please

Trying to figure out what breed this little one is. We are fostering her right now and trying to decide if we want to adopt her.
Would like to know how big she is going to be and trying to figure out her breed.

Someone has said part bassett, others have said Redbone Coonhound.

What are your thoughts? She's only 8 weeks old.

    I would def say she is a mix of hound, just not really sure, but she has the colorings and look.... hard to tell how big she will be, you can sometimes tell by their feet..
    She is absolutely adorable though!

    She looks like a Dachshund. They don't get very big.

    Definitely a beagle or basset face. Looks more beagle to me, though the ears are HUGE. But his legs look too long to be a basset. I definitely see the redbone coloration, so there could be some of that, too. SO ADORABLE, either way. How does her bark sound? More like a bay or a bark? That is the deciding factor. :)

    her paws look fairly dainty, which suggests to me that she won't be getting very big. She looks like a Daschund mix to me. My mother in law has 2 longhaired Daschunds, and her face/head/ears look very similar to theirs.

    I am so glad my daughter wasn't looking over my shoulder when I pulled up that picture...you would have a 14 year old knocking at your door begging you for a dog! Based on the size of the paws, I would guess he/she wouldn't get very big, probably no bigger than a medium sized dog. Ears and face look hound, body looks a little dachshund, so you got a pretty good mix there.

    I have only heard her bark once, definite bay. Sounds like someone screaming.

    Then she definitely has hound in her, I had a beagle, he had the most awesome bay sounding howl ever, just loved it....I miss my little man.....

    Definitely Dachshund by her face and body... probably mixed with something else also, but primarily Dachshund..

    She looks at least part dacshund (sp?) to me. I'm not a dog person but she's just so cute, I'd keep her!

    I am not sure but looks like beagle and basset. No clue on the size grown. But the greatest gift is to adopt a pet. It will bring you and the pup great joy! Good luck..

    i'm not seeing the beagle everyone keeps mentioning.. i have a beagle/cocker mix and he has the beagle body - at 8 weeks he was way more stocky then she is so i really don't think she's got beagle in her.

    i would go with the daschund though, she does have the look of a weinie dog. :bigsmile:

    She reminds me of a daschund; but her ears look like a bigger hound of some kind. Whatever she is, she is adorable & I want to take her home, LOL! :smile:

    Looks to me like a daschund (body) / beagle (face) mix. I've known several of each breed over the years, and that's what I'm seeing. Definitely a cute woofer, though.
