When you start drinking a ton of water ??

I had one cup of mac n cheese as a side dish the other day and all I could think about was how salty it tasted. The only thing I've changed since the last time I had it was the amount of water I'm drinking as opposed to diet Coke.

Thoughts ??

I get grossed out by how sickeningly SWEET desserts and candy taste after I've been eating clean for awhile. And regular soda is gaggingly sweet.

my tolerance of salty foods has dropped so much--the cookie I'm eating tastes salty now! and one of the microwave cups of mac and cheese has to be followed by a huge bottle of water......

I ate some Kraft Dinner recently and I found it extremely salty. Of course, it didn't stop me from eating it!! I also notice condensed soups are really salty...saltier than I remember. Not sure why I notice the saltiness more now though.

I don't think it's related to drinking more water.. more related to not eating it for a while and tasting it more (enjoying) when you do eat it
I quit dairy products about 3 weeks ago (due to weight loss stalling and wanted to change my diet a little). I had a piece of cheddar cheese 2 days ago and it tasted like a chunk of salt. it was gross.

There is so much salt in everything.. nasty.

LOL wow....I think I have too dirty of a mind to answer this question....but on a serious note....a lot of times when people start eating more clean, sweets usually don't taste the same! I've never had any issues with food tasting more salty though...but I'm assuming it's the same thing as sweets tasting different!

    YES!!!!
I've mostly noticed how salty things are (and I used to be a saltaholic). I've been trying to keep the sodium intake to a min.... it's hard, but boy, I sure can taste it now like never before.

Diet pop is not my favorite anymore.... I'm addicted to watered down Spark and Water with a little lemon or lime.

Sweets are still my weakness.......love them just as I always did!

I am right there with you. I do, however, like to water down my soda (on occasion) with seltzer. I do 1 part water, 2 parts soda and it tastes perfect. But then again, I hardly ever drink soda period.

Salty? Well it's weird for me because I am almost always hating how much salt is in food...and then randomly, I need SO MUCH salt. The other day, I salted a serving of Easy Mac 0.o

Both salty and sweet seem overwhelming to me, especially restaurant food. Even grill foods are salted at restaurants. I used to eat 4-5 large bags of chips a week. I can't imagine how nasty that would taste now. Clean eating makes a difference in how we percieve even lightly salted and sweetened food. They seem intense.

I'm a big salt person i add salt to a lot of things so i havent found things being salty, but i have found since ive started eating healthier that some things taste much greasier and full of fat. I use to have a BIG glass of full cream milk ALL the time but once i started dieting i stopped. Then i had a small glass of milk and it just felt so thick and fat and gross i was really surprised. i also really love sweets and i allow myself lots of sweets, but healthier options than i use to have. But i only drink diet soft drink now, and wen i had regular soft drink it was killer sweet, couldnt take it.
