Pilates.....

A little background first. Back in May, I had foot surgery due to plantar fasciitis. I was on crutches & in a hard cast for four weeks, and then continued on crutches & a walking boot (with little pressure on the walking boot) for an additional two weeks before I started transitioning off from them. Since then I have slowly getting back into exercise. More due a mental thing that I need to overcome than anything else. The plantar fascitis began when I was attending jazzercise classes. Anyway, I have been doing some walking and such. Two weeks ago, a once a week plilates class started at my church that I signed up for. Never really have done pilates before, I thought I would try it out. It would help me stretch out, plus firm up my core, blah blah blah. After yesterdays session, the foot I had my surgery on was sore. Not in the heal area, but in the arch. I stretched it occasionally throughout the day. Today, it is sore in the heel area, exactly where it was bothering me before surgery :frown: It didn't bother me during the class so I don't know what I did. Any thoughts, ideas, etc? I really don't want to have problems with that foot again but would like to continue with the class!! Thanks!

Because pilates is done barefot it requires foot strenght to blance etc. It might be as simple as that, using muscles that you aren't used to, especially if you did alot on relve (up on your toes) . Good luck, I hope it feels better!0

Thanks for the feedback. There are a couple of things that we have done where it is up on our toes, but I have tried not to do those moves. I'll keep that in mind when I see the instructor next week0
