EWhat to do with my sugar addiction...

So I feel as if my scale is stuck. I have been within my calories for several weeks and haven't lost a single pound. Ugh. Even though I'm within my calorie limit most days I do eat too much sugar:( I am breastfeeding so I'm allowed a few extra calories and I have it set to 20 oz. which is actually less than my 6 month old takes. I do give her one formula bottle per day on average, plus solids. I am wondering if anyone can give me advice. I know I need to knock down the sugar for health reasons, but has anyone had this help them with the weight loss as well?

I had to cut out sugar for medical reasons... sugar and wheat. I lost 4 pounds my first week. It was hard, I just simply took it all out of the house.0

My slavery to sugar was costly. Not just from being super fat, but from becoming diabetic.
I still have and always will have a nasty sweet tooth. What I do is keep it out of my house. If its not in my house... I do not want it.0 -
My crossfit box does "no-sugar challenges" all the time. It helps a TON. Try it for 30 days... cut out all sugars, sugar alcohols, etc. Check your labels (it's in most bread, packaged snacks, dressings, juices, etc.) We also limited fructose from fruit to 25g per day. It's worth a shot - when I did it I saw a huge reduction in bloat, not to mention I stopped craving stuff after about a week!!0

I cut out sweets completely and saw a huge difference, no more cravings. I was in a cycle of eating sugar, crashing, eating more sugar...
Now I do have sugar now and then but it's not the cravings like it used to be. I think you just have to cut it out completely for a little while to get out of that cycle.0 -
I am the biggest sugar addict, so I had to try to eliminate if from my diet. I have to read all labels because you would be surprised to learn where sugar hides - breads, pasta sauce, dressings etc! The first 3 days were hard, my stomach was gurgling big time, BUT I'm on my way. You have to find what works for you..0

Cut out basically all processed sugar when I was diagnosed as diabetic. Took a while to get used to but I don't miss it now.0

I am a crazy sugar addict......well, you know that! . This might not be the best advice, but what has been kind of working for me lately is letting myself have a sweet treat every day. My one treat is way less than my former 10 sweet treats a day. This way, I am not telling myself I have to completely give it up. Maybe after I have cut down on it long enough, I will realize that I don't need it anymore.0

This is exactly what did NOT work for me. So, OP, that's why you have to keep in mind that everyone is different... if you try one thing and it doesn't work, try another method instead of giving up!0 -
So I like the way u think, gk, but just as I was reaching for my ONE cookie I remembered I had frosted mini wheats for bfast! I guess that counts, huh? Well I managed to do it today and I actually wasnt as hungry as usual! (Although I havent gone running or worked out yet...spose I should get off the computer and go do that!)0

I treat my sweet tooth with Maple Syrup in my coffee in the morning. Then I try to only have fruit as my other sugar sources. I cut out all artificial sweeteners a while back. I don't drink pop any more ... except for special occasions. I find if I don't have more than I have planned for the day, I am OK. But if I happen to slip ... I am a wild woman.:devil:0

My body refused to shed more than 20 of my 40 pregnancy pounds until I weaned, regardless of my diet and level of exercise. After weaning at a year, the last half of my weight dropped easy enough.
Some women drop weight quickly while breastfeeding. But some of our bodies didn't get the Evolution memo and keep us prepared for famine0
