I think it depends on your frame.

i think it depends on your height.

    a 6 or 8 on me is not a small, but i'm 5 foot. a small for me is a 2 or 4 (and extra small is a 0).

i agree, depends on the frame, 2 or 4 is usually peoples healthy weight size. but 6 or 8 can be some peoples no matter how much weight they lose or how fit they are. and also size 0 as well is normal for some.

Depends on your body and frame. If you're talking about how manufacturers size things, then a Small is usually a 4 or 6.

Like everyone said, it varies. I'm 5'10" and the smallest pair of jeans I'll ever wear is an 8 due to my structure.

Thanks for posting that!! I am 5'9" and if I wore a 2 or 6 I would look like I need to be in an eating disorder clinic. The smallest size I have ever fit into was a 9 when I was 134pounds, and people would beg me to eat.

    I think a 6 or 8.

It varies greatly person to person based on height and frame.
you can NOT put a general number on it like that.
I joined here at a 5/6 and was considered fat.
    Small for me is 0.

I am 5'1 and when I weighed 130lbs I wore a size 6 and looking back at pictures, I was really thin! People were telling me not to lose anymore weight! (No worries there, I got prego again and gained it all back!) Hence the reason I am here.

Just to show variation, currently I weigh 154 and wear a size 10.
My first go around, at 165 I was a tight 14.

My body changed so much that at 165 this go around, I was wearing that same size 10, sometimes a 12.

Right now at 154, my 10's are getting loose.

Everyone is different and your body continues to change.

How can you say any particular size is "usually" most people's health size? That is so wrong. After I'm dead my skeleton will not fit into a 2. Please.

I wasn't trying to put a general number on it.

Question was what do YOU think....

    *I* think a size 6 or 8.

Depends on how the person is built, how tall they are, etc. There is no one answer here.

    Maybe if you're 5'2". Try being 5'9" for a day ;)
