My family loves asian cuisine. This is one recipe I don't have to feel guilty about eating and the kids loved it too.
Ingredients:
1 T. canola oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1 T. soy sauce
2 T. oyster sauce
4 medium sized chicken breasts, sliced pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup bean sprouts
3 large celery stalks, chopped
½ can water chestnuts, chopped
½ cup chopped green pepper
½ cup warm water mixed with 1 T. cornstarch
½ cup chopped roasted almonds
In large wok, heat oils. When hot, toss in the sliced chicken pieces. Toss and cook with the chopped onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic and salt. When chicken is cooked (approx 4 minutes on high, continually stirring) add the rest of the vegetables and stirfry another 4 minutes approx. When all is cooked, pour in the water/cornstarch mixture and it will thicken the sauce. Add the chopped almonds and serve over white or brown rice for an entire meal. Serves family of 5. MFP estimates calories at 197 per serving. Eat it over 1/2 cup brown rice. MMM.
